Part 10:
Mayank had told Shilpa Sharma about the phone call and she was almost jumping with joy all around... making arrangements which gave another shock to both Mayank and Nupur in their respective houses that the next day would be their engagement ceremony

Mayank was really baffled with the turn of events now, learning that Panditji had readily agreed saying so much merrily about their marriage that now he thought that his Ma believing so much in Panditji would have made sure he married Nupur anyways whether he agreed or not....and he felt strange now that He, Mayank Sharma, had agreed to MARRY Nupur Bhushan once his Mother had denied it for his sake...but now he was sure why his Ma's only choice was Nupur with her own will, ofcourse, and also with Panditji coming into picture, it had to be...he wanted to pat his Ma for making him agree out of his own will when this would have happened anyways...and he loved his Mom for what she was and how she handled him and his Dad always....only this time felt having trapped in the most convinient way...

Nupur was knocked out of her sensibility when she had come to know on the other day that not only her engagement was fixed for the present day but her engagement dress had also been sent by Shilpa Sharma to her house in the morning which was perfecting her fitting as Shilpa Sharma and Nupur went together to the same dress designer sometimes....sometimes,....that was because Nupur also believed in some street shopping sometimes at specific locations living in Mumbai now which were famous for casual clothes' new ranges...she had a range of clothes to claim as hers starting from heavy rich designer clothes to very economical casual simple clothes with a vibrant touch to her attire always...

Mayank and Nupur had arrived at the engagement ceremony looking stunningly beautiful with Nupur wearing Purple Ghagra Choli along with golden work on it and Mayank wearing a Sherwani of orange shade ...but the only mis-fortune was they didn't take notice of each other much. Everyone praised how good they looked individually and together but Mayank and Nupur didn't look at each other much feeling a bit nervous at taking such a big and totally unexpected decision, even for themselves, nervousness was obvious and they also tried not to look accusingly at each other to ask why the other had agreed or even thinking that they might be asked the same question to answer- why they themselves had agreed.
They exchanged rings ,a ring which was to encircle their lives as one, a ring which meant a promise never to be broken at all.... with all their loved ones around.
Finally Nupur felt that she had to speak up, whatever it was, it was Her Engagement after all, she looked up at Mayank and tried to smiled a bit moving her hand forward she said, "Congratulations"
Mayank smiled back at her with a lot of confusion on his face but try to reply smiling, "Congrats to you too"
Nupur laughed suddenly startling Mayank, "ByGod Mayank tumhe maine itna confused kabhi nahi dekha...dekho daro mat main tumhe kachcha chaba nahi jaaoungi..."she said laughing continuosly
Mayank tried to shed all his confused thoughts and expression at this comment of Nupur and tried being himself as he always was with her saying, "Thank God kahoon ....ya Thanks Nupur kahoon.....meri jaan baksh dene ke liye...ab mujhe sirf tumhari baaton se dar bachcha hai....baaki sab theek hai"
Nupur closed her her fist in anger and hit it on her other hand saying, "Mayank tum kabhi nahi sudharne wale ho naa...main chahe kitni bhi koshish kar loon ...tum..."when suddenly Shilpa Sharma came out of nowhere and Nupur stopped...looking upto her ....when she said, "arrey tum dono, chalo abhi issi waqt mujhse promise karo ki ab tum dono bilkul ladai nahi karoge.."
Mayank and Nupur glared at Shilpa Sharma and then at each other, when she realized she was asking way too much for them to accept now, so she added smiling, "achcha baba jitna ho sake...kam ladoge"now this seemed much better to hear...only if that was possible for them when Nupur replied quickly, "Aunty ho sake toh naa....par koshish karoongi dil pe patthar rakh kar" when she laughed and looked at Mayank
when Mayank saw both of them eyeing him for an answer he said defeated, "Sure Maa...Ho Saka Toh" looking at Nupur
Shilpa Sharma replied smiling, "waah phool jhad rahe hain tum dono ke muh se ek doosre ke liye...koshish hi sahi...shuruwaat toh ki" this made Mayank and Nupur feel a bit wierd...."Shuruaat ki..."...sounded far from what they had thought the promise meant then she
left patting both their cheeks with her both hands making them smile together for the first time in the evening...
Gunjan arrived upto them having two plates of food making them sit and have food together when she suddenly said, "Di, Jeeju...tum dono bahut pyaare lag rahe ho" as genuinly as she could, keeping her teasing tone away else Nupur would have tried to kill her for these words of her....
Mayank and Nupur both stealed a corner glance at each other confirming Gunjan's words in their minds, right she was totally they thought, but Gunjan's "Jeeju" had left them a bit more than nervous to take that as a compliment when Nupur shot Gunjan an angry look making her look down and avoid looking at her, Mayank oddly said, "Ja----jeeju?"
Gunjan asked innocently, "Kyun nahi bula sakti kya?....mujhe achcha lagega"
Mayank replied with the same odd smile, "Nahi bula sakti ho....kyun nahi....ab toh yeh sab....matlab agar tumhe achcha lagta hai toh..."
Nupur saw both of them, a bit surprised at the way they were being taken over by their new relation....
Gunjan smiled in returned and looked at Nupur to see if she was still in her angry mode, when she understood that she was fine now she
started talking to her about random things now to make the mood light that she herself had changed few minutes ago and started having some food from Nupur's plate leaving Mayank to have a direct telecast of their long talks that he had always heard of.
Gunjan was continuously by Nupur's side since the time she had come to them making her talk with her more than to think of the situation while Mayank intentionally listened to all their talks to get his answer of why she agreed yesterday but they mostly talked about random things and about the dresses, decor and all.
All the elders having given them their blessings and all their relatives after having had shocked expressions on their faces after seeing
Mayank and Nupur engaged today which seemed like another wonder to them, had finally wished them luck and prayed to God for them..they thought they nedded prayers too
Now here were Mayank and Nupur standing together as each other's fiancee's now with the unknown world of each other to be shared with together, as if no two world existed for those who's fate had been joined together forever....

Now the date for the marriage was fixed too and all the arrangements were in full swing...catering, invitation cards, heavy jewellery, rich designer clothes, relatives, Mahoorat, Guests' list, Decorations, Venue Booking....all were going in such a proper manner that
required no double checking...it was Nupur's marriage....which she had decided about from years and Shilpa Sharma, Gunjan, Bauji, Sharma Uncle....all knew what she would want and how...so everything was going on accordingly as per her choices....fortunately, they even knew about Mayank's clothes and all...not just because they knew what Nupur would like.... but eventually Nupur had also joined in all for the arrangements of her marriage....how could she miss out the fun in her own marriage...she actively participated in shoppings and all this while Mayank as usual tried to keep away a bit from the shopping festival, which were his words to denote the ongoing shopping spree, recently a Big event in his house and just helped in the work that was necessary for him to take part in

Mayank-Nupur's Mehandi Ceremony that was held along with her Sangeet was a rocking affair for the whole town to see...Nupur had made the Mehandi applying people to write in big letters in her hand MAYANK, so that somehow he sees it since it was an important rituals for her
and she wanted to have things go the right way as much as they can.....
Even Mayank had shaked his legs a little on Bhushan Uncle's insistence and Gunjan pulling him along side Nupur to have them dance together....but they had more of danced with everyone and not much with each other though....but still they managed not to try to be
sarcastic at such occasions....but what worried them was...will they try to be positive towards each other when no one insisted, they doubted more on the other person then oneself...
