i have noticed alot on IF and  in general how people call a punjabi celeb (Dharamji and Daler ) Paaji.. so i thought i would make it clear its NOT paaji , its Bhaaji (Paa is father and ji is attached to it while Bhaaji is an elder brother ) 😊

If you say so....its up to people what they prefer to use there are no hard and fast rules
I for one will continue to use Paaji and not bhaji as its more personal and can't be confused for a snack on a cheap indian restaurant menu

Reha he always will be referred to as Dharam Paaji....the person posting this seems to have taken it upon herself to throw in a punjabi to english written translation...which most ppl don't care about. Its an attempt to demonstrate a superiority over any given subject....

lol you are funny guy

Paaji is punjabi not English...in English Pa=Dad

Paaji comes from "Phraji" or Veer ji (Elder bro) in Punjabi

When you prounce the first word sound like P not B so Paaji

Punjabis dont use Bhai or Bhai ji..thats hindi

Dada is big bro in Bengali but in rest of India Dada means grand pa...

Mota Bhai in Gujrati is elder bro...in rest of India it would be fat bro

obviously you dont know anything about Punjabi language....

paaji is correct

It is due to the pronuncitaion that the word "bhaaji" which means elder brother in punjabi is often pronounced as "paaji" by hindi speaking people.

When the punjabi letter "bh" is pronounced, it is pronounced with a deeper sound which is something in between p and bh sounds.
In hindi the letters are either bh or p that is why punjabi bh sounds like p when said by hindi speaking people. This is the reason it often sounds like paaji instead of bhaaji. It has nothing to do with to be called as father or brother.

The word "paaji" in hindi is a different word with some negative meaning somthing like cunning or so, I am not sure.

No offence to hindi speaking people.

exactly, its all in the pronunciation.   it is actually bhaji b/c the bh sound is different in punjabi than in hindi.   just like bhangra is always mispronounced in hindi movies shows etc, so is bhaji.
