shamu's financial status.....

Shyam saxena. Works as a professor in allahbad university .... its obvious that he works for govt then he must be getting benefits like casual leave,earned leave,medical leave,job security etc......in case of a medical emergency he is allowed to rest n no salary is cut.....also govt gives some amount of money for treatment of its employees...
He didnt spend anything during pratigya n adarsh's wedding...all the arrangements were done by thakurs.....he didnt host any function then how come he is so short of money right now?????
Sajjan singh didnt demand any dowry......whenever shyamu went to meet pratigya he didnt take any expensive gift with him.....only 2-3 boxes of sweets which wouldnt have cost more than 500-600 rupees......
Arushi was anyway going to marry someone or the other......even if she got married to aman shamu had to spend his money on marriage......the marriage was stopped but the advance was already given which cant be returned.....
Adarsh's office must be having provision of medical leave for its employees....
Electricity bill cant be more than 2000 rupees as they dont have an a.c or heater......cant belive they dont have even 3000rupees in savings........

This confuses me too Amrapali. I fail to understand how a household, with 2 working men, on respectable positions, one as a prof and the other in a bank, cannot even gather enough money to pay the basic household expenses. Today it was electricity, tomorrow the phone line and water line will be cut as well.

Apart from Adarsh's accident, there have been no unforeseen expenditures. They've had more than 20 yrs to save money for the two daughter's weddings. Yet, Prats and Adarsh's weddings were pretty much for free, and money had to be spent on Arushi's wedding only. Prof Shyam got it easy, he wasn't hospitalized for his heart attack, and only needed some medicines, again, no major expenditure. Plus, Dadi is fit and fine so barely anything has to be spent on her.  Infact, even Arushi left her studies half-way, so again money was saved.

Prof has been employed all the time. Adarsh got his job back.

 

It just seems so unrealistic how they've gone poor all of a sudden. For all the lectures they give on being educated and sensible, they sure haven't managed their money sensibly. No wonder Komal is always upset. She came from riches into a family who don't know how to manage their accounts.

Your post reads like bookkeeping.😆 You are exposing all ways Shamu could have saved a wad of cash.  You forgot to mention they didn't pay Angad the 5 lakhs in blackmail money either. 

Bizarre that Nainaji's sarees suddenly became old that she is wearing simple sarees. If they were strapped for funds how did Naina get money to refurbish her wardrobe so soon. Who paid for the tum-tum? Unless it's made of platinum or white gold there has been no other expenses for the Saxsenas. They don't eat meat so unless as Komal said they bought so much veggies to bankrupt themselves where else did their money go? They spend a whole lot of funds on tea but how many times have we seen them drink tea these days.

Seriously, someone has to audit the Saxsena's financial reports and check their tax returns. Yemi is an accountant, maybe we can have her check it out.

What Saxes have to do

Reveal their TRUE financial statements including their retirement packages etc.😕

Arushi needs to finish her computer course for which her father has already paid for so she can get a job and pay back some of the funds wasted on her fiasco wedding.😕

Adarsh give Komal his paycheck in lieu of attention which seems to be hard for the Sax who has been married for over nine months.😛

Shamu take out some of the fixed deposits for immediate use so they don't live in such bad conditions. Electricity, running water and part of everyday life. Why the "garibi" tag around their necks?

Maybe Dadi has been paying pujaris to do poojas to avert the family's calamities for her own peace of mind.😕😲

its strange how creatives can ignore such imp details......making a perfect show is impossible.......but pratigya is next to perfect............ the vicious cycle of affairs,marriage,rapes that is the pehchaan of ekta kapoor's serials is not shown......this is the best part of the show.......new concept n amazing actors.....love pratigya
