I think that there is a very big  reason for them to close this case just like this. Obvious reasons are that their prime suspect is well connected with the top positions. When they (the suspect and family ) speak they are challenging the CBI to continue with the investigation and have obviously criticised the CBI as much as possible. Why? Will this case be closed just like that. Is India void of good investigators. If so why do we Indians spend so much on these good or nothing special Investigation teams?

Any Comments.

The investigators are incompetent and vicious failures. They destroyed most of the evidence at the crime scene before investigating it. It's pathettic that they only found the second body two days after the first body, because they didn't bother to look at the terrace. So after having wiped out anything that could be of use to track down and prosecute the real culprits, they tried going after the victim's father. After hounding him for more than two years, they obviously couldn't find anything incriminating against him so they just dropped the case. The poor man and his family suffered trauma for nothing.

Aarushi murder case: Rajesh and Nupur tried to influence doctor, says CBI

NEW DELHI: The sensational Aarushi murder case took a new twist today with CBI raising doubts over the role of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar alleging that they had tried to influence the doctor who conducted the postmortem on their 14-year-old daughter in 2008, a charge rubbished by the dentist couple.

In its 30-page closure report submitted to a Ghaziabad court on December 29, the CBI said that Rajesh and Nupur had Aarushi's room washed up after asking the UP Police to rush to the railway station to nab their domestic help — Hemraj — on May 16th morning.

Aarushi was murdered in the intervening night of May 15-16 in 2008 at the Talwars' residence in Noida. Hemraj was found dead on the terrace the next day.

Aarushi's parents had tried to "influence" the doctor who conducted the postmortem in a Noida hopsital, the CBI said.

"Its absolutely bizarre and absurd allegation by the CBI. We are the one pushing for the investigations," Nupur said.

Accusing the CBI of "cover up" of the shoddy probe by the UP police, she said that neither she nor her husband even knew where the postmortem was being conducted and that the UP police had taken over the crime scene early morning when the body of their daughter was found.

CBI said the dimension of the wound on Aarushi's head was similar to one on the golf club owned by Rajesh, adding it was handed over by the couple after intense grilling, a year after the incident.

However, Nupur claimed that she was the one who produced the golf club on her own and that the CBI had never asked for it.

"The conduct of the parents has been suspicious," the CBI, which has come under intense criticism in the wake of its closure report, said.

The report said Talwar was named as an accused but could not be chargesheeted because of "insufficient evidence".

Asked why the CBI had not proceeded against Rajesh and Nupur on the basis of their findings, senior CBI officials said that they could not zero in on any motive behind the murder. CBI could not proceed on the circumstantial evidence merely on the basis of conjectures.

About the three servants — Krishna, Raj Kumar and Vijay Mandal — the report said that they were found to be innocent during the investigations and hence the case against the trio should be treated as closed.

The report, while detailing the case, said there were no witnesses in the case other than the parents and Hemraj.

While the crime scene had not been preserved at all, the CBI, which took up the case on June 1, 2008, said things were pretty normal at Talwars' residence till 10.30pm on the fateful day as suggested in the video camera where some pictures had been clicked.

The father was hooked on the internet till midnight, the report said.

The CBI also highlighted the fact that it was unlikely that the murderer could have killed the victim and then wrapped her body properly in a bed sheet.

The report claimed that the dentist had asked UP police team to rush after Hemraj rather than giving them sufficient time to secure the scene of crime.

It also claimed that Rajesh had failed to immediately identify the body of Hemraj found on the terrace.

It mentioned that there was no forced entry into the house and even the door of Aarushi was like that of a hotel room which could be opened either from inside or with a key from outside. The keys of the room were with the mother of the victim, the report said.

The narco-analysis and polygraph tests of the dentist couple were "inconclusive", it said.

On the role of servants, who have been given clean chit after the investigations, the CBI report said while one of them — Rajkumar (domestic help of family friend Durrani) — was at the railway station from 11:30pm, to receive Durrani's wife and was accounted for till 1am.

Krishna was detained from his residence by the UP police while he was sleeping, the report said, adding there were eyewitnesses to suggest that he was all along at his home on that night.

The narco-tests of the three servants were also of "disputed nature", the report claimed.

On the missing mobile phones, they said the cell phones which were claimed to have been destroyed by the servants were found activated within three months raising doubts about the tests.

In related developments, Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily met CBI director A P Singh during which the senior police official briefed him about the case. The minister wanted the agency to take the case seriously.

Talwar's counsel Rebecca John welcomed Moily's statement saying "if the law minister has made a statement asking for an explanation from the CBI, we welcome that reaction."

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar also said that she was "worried" about the recent developments. "This is an important issue. We are worried about it...that a child was murdered and why she is not getting justice... we should think seriously," she said.

The National Commission for Women shot off letters to the Home Minister and the Law Minister seeking a re-look at the case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)'s closure report, containing the findings of its probe in the murder of Class 9 student Aarushi Talwar (13) and domestic help Hemraj Banjade (45) in May 2008, says it couldn't establish a motive for the crime. Neither could it link the crime to the girl's PARENTS

The agency's closure report says, "…there are a number of critical and serious gaps in the circumstances which make it difficult to string together the sequence of events and motive behind the gruesome murder".

The report, though, says that a "number of circumstances… indicate the involvement of the parents in the crime and the cover-up".

The report says:
The scene of the crime was "heavily dressed" or cleaned up, which could only have been done by the parents.

Aarushi's body was found covered with a white sheet, her pyjama and undergarment had been changed.

The key to her room was with Nupur, who could not explain how and why it was lying in the lobby.

Aarushi's bed linen was undisturbed despite the use of force in the crime; there was evidence of post-mortem cleaning of her private parts.

Surgical cuts on the necks of both victims was the work of a small surgical tool/khukri and by surgically-trained persons.

Rajesh did not identify Hemraj's decomposed body when it was found a day later.

The key circumstantial evidence the CBI has listed against the Talwars also included Rajesh's golf club, whose dimensions were found during forensic examination to be identical to the dimensions of the injuries on the heads of Aarushi and Hemraj. The golf club was claimed to have gone missing by Rajesh and when it was found a year later, it was "thoroughly cleaned" to remove all evidence.

The report also said Rajesh's brother, Dr Dinesh Talwar, had allegedly taken the help of a local, retired deputy superintendent of police, KK Gautam, to allegedly request for non-mention of rape in post-mortem proceedings and get Hemraj's body recovered. Dinesh even spoke to the doctor who conducted the autopsy, Dr Sunil Dohre, to influence him, the CBI has said.

On the night of the murders, the CBI says the Talwar's home was as usual; Aarushi was even gifted a camera by her parents in the evening.

The report rules out the involvement of the earlier suspects — Rajesh's medical assistant Krishna Thadarai and domestic helps Rajkumar Sharma and Vijay Mandal, who the CBI had arrested and put through scientific test

CBI's allegations wild, speculative: Aarushi's parents

Reacting to the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) closure report which says that the Aarushi Talwar murder scene was heavily dressed up, which could only have been done by her parents, the Talwars on Saturday lashed out at the investigative agency for making "wild" and "speculative" allegations.

"These allegations are so wild, so speculative, and so imaginative that means there are people in the CBI who are absolutely unscientific. I mean they don't even think like intelligent police officers. This is the state of the CBI?" Aarushi's mother Nupur Talwar told a news channel.

Aarushi was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her parents' Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida May 16, 2008. The family's domestic help, Hemraj, was also found killed on the flat's terrace a day later.

The closure report said that the murder scene had been heavily "dressed up", which could only have been done by her parents.

It further stated that a bottle of Scotch whisky was found on the dining table. But according to the probe agency, any intruder would not have had sufficient time to consume liquor on the night of murder May 16, 2008.

Reacting to media reports that Rajesh Talwar was the only suspect in the double murder case, Nupur said: "If they had chargesheeted, I would have defended myself in the trial. But this is something they have purposely left hanging to us for the rest of our lives. You close the case, yet you are left with suspicions on you the rest of your life."

Nupur Talwar said both she and her husband were devastated by CBI's allegations, having to relive the days of 2008 repeatedly.

"Today, Rajesh is not able to sit here and talk to you, because he is completely broken and shattered," he said.

Lawyers representing Aarushi's parents are now waiting for Monday, when they expect the special court in Ghaziabad to take up the closure report. The parents are already planning to file a protest petition to fight the CBI's appeal to the court to close the case.

"Unless we see the complete closure report, it would be very premature to comment on any aspect of the case. If there are allegations against the Talwar couple, we will look into it. We will take up each and every aspect of the report point by point," counsel Rebecca John said.

She accused the CBI of "playing a game".

"There is absolutely no evidence against Dr. Talwar, which makes the CBI's allegations full of ambiguity," she added.

In 2008, Rajesh Talwar was arrested and kept behind bars for 50 days in connection with the killings, but was later let off because of lack of evidence. The CBI later arrested his medical assistant Krishna and two other domestic helps in the neighbourhood, Raj Kumar and Vijay Mandal.

The lawyer for the three employees Naresh Yadav said that if CBI had apprehension that the crime scene had been violated, then it should have registered a complaint.

"They (CBI) should have registered a case against the parents or the Noida police or the investigators if they found examples of tampering of evidence," he said.

Arushi Killing is the best example of how Media is ruling the country...Arushi case is nothing but entertaining murder mystery for everybody except her parents.

And in my opinion parents role is suspicious in this case and if they are involved then death of family member itself a big punishment for them. Its been better if culprit have been identified and punished ...

However It is a criminal case BUT it is not a national issue, all the hype is due to mystery (entertainment) part of the crime so it is getting media coverage and part of tea party gossip.😕

One of the most intriguing murder mystery in recent times. Its good material for a whodunit  or CID. The Talwars know more than they are letting out, but how come nothing was detected when the Talwars were subjected to narco test ? 🤓

I certainly find the parents role suspicious. They are definitely hiding something. Here are some of the points I find disturbing

being educated and doctors, didnt they know to not disturb the crime scene. If ur daughter is found murdered, the first reaction would be immense grief, where did they find the time to clean up ..

what was the hurry to do her cremation when as educated as they are, should know that its a crime scene and doing her last rites in such a hurry would ruin any chance of finding out her killer

as per the report , why did they tell the post mortem doc to not mention anything abt sexual activity

the main point, if rajesh talwar was browsing the net and nupur was awake enough to go to aarushi's room, how the hell didnt they hear anything when two murders are being committed in the next room with only a plywood separating the rooms

there are many more points which lead me to believe the parents are hiding something and are not coming out clearly
