Thank you all so so much for all your support and wonderful comments! Love each and every one of them! Keeps me wanting to write more and more!
It was already 12 Noon when they reached the hotel's restaurant. It was time for lunch. Aham chose a quiet corner in the restaurant where nobody could notice them. Instead of sitting opposite Gopi, he sat beside her. The lunch was buffet style so he piled Gopi's plate and made her taste almost everything available. Aham knew he was making her eat alot but he wanted to hear her protest. He wanted her to open up enough to him to actually protest and have cute little fights like other couples do. He did not want Gopi doing everything because he wanted her to do it. He wanted her to tell him what she wants, what she likes. So he could listen to her. She had listened to him enough, and now was his turn.
Gopi felt really full. Her Ahamji was making her eat so much. Now he was making her eat another 'Puri'. Finally Gopi said,"Ahamji bas, main aur nahi kha sakti (Ahamji enough, i cannot eat anymore)"
"Ek aur le lo (Take one more)" urged Aham, anticipating her answer.
To Aham's disappointment, after giving him a hesitant smile, Gopi ate it. Damn! Why can't she just refuse?! Aham started thinking of something else. They then left the hotel and Aham decided that it was time they did some shopping, well Gopi did some shopping.
So he told Gopi that they were heading to the mall where they went the night before. Gopi just complied and followed her Ahamji. They then walked around the mall with Aham's eyes on Gopi looking to see if she liked something. After all, she was a young lady, there must be something she liked. He then saw Gopi looking at a pair of sandals with interest. He led Gopi into the shop.
He then said,"Gopi, tum to sirf ek hi chapliya layi ho aur Mom bhi mujhe keh rahi thi ke tumhare liye main chapliya kharidun. To yahaan se kuch le lo (Gopi, you only brought one pair of sandals and Mom also told me to get you a new pair. So get one from here)" he knew Gopi wouldn't be able to say anything after hearing his Mom's name.
"Ji, aap ko kya pasand hai? (What do you like?)" came Gopi's answer.
Aham saw that coming. He knew just what he had to do to kill this habit of hers. He then walked up to one of the shelves and picked up a ridiculous looking pair of bright yellow coloured court shoes which he knew Gopi would never agree to wear.
Gopi looked at it, her eyes widened with shock. Oh Kanhaji, please don't make it fit into my feet. It's so ugly! Ahamji will waste his money if he gets this for me.
Aham brought it to his wife. His wife's expressive face depicted how much she hated it quite clearly. Aham tried really hard to surpress his laughter as he watched his wife try it on. It was too big on her and Gopi wasted no time in telling him that.
"Ahamji ye to bohot bera hai (Ahamji, this is too big)" a relieved Gopi told her husband.
"Koi baat nahi, un ke paas chota size ho ga (Nevermind, they have a smaller size)" a naughty Aham replied.
"Nahi! Mera matlab hai, rehne di jiye na, dusra lete hain (No! I meant, it's okay, we can choose another one)" came Gopi's prompt reply.
"Acha, to tujhe kon sa pasand hai? (Okay so which one do you like?)" asked a smiling Aham hoping his little plan was successful.
"Ji woh wala kaisa hai? (Umm, how about that one?)" asked a hopeful Gopi pointing to the pair of sandals she had been eyeing a while ago.
Aham's smile widened and he immediately got the sales lady to bring it over. That too didn't fit but when Aham suggested to request the sales lady to bring another size, Gopi did not say anything.
As for Gopi, she felt so happy. Her Ahamji just bought her something. The sandals were so nice. She had been admiring them but she did not know she would actually own them. Now she could wear these to the wedding the next day.
Aham felt so good seeing Gopi happy. He was proud of himself. He took the bag from Gopi and insisted that he carried them. Then they passed a corn vendor. Gopi really wanted to have some, she loved it and haven't eaten it in a while. But should she ask her Ahamji? Would he get upset? Gopi then remembered last night when her Ahamji took his vows. At that time she also made a promise, that she would also forget the past and never let it affect their new life. She knew her Ahamji wanted her to open up to him. She decided that this was a good way for her to start conversing openly to her husband.
Aham saw that Gopi was looking lost and was fiddling with her dupatta.
He held her upper arm to get her attention and asked,"Kya huwa Gopi? (What happened Gopi?)"
Gopi pointed to the corn vendor and asked Aham timidly,"Woh, bhutta khai? (Shall we eat corn?)"
Aham was pleasantly surprised and said,"Ji zaroor, tumhe pasand hai? (Yes of course, you like it?)"
Gopi just smiled and nodded. They walked over to the stall and Aham ordered one corn for Gopi. Gopi was surprised and asked him why he did not get it for himself. Aham just smiled and shook his head.
He said to Gopi, still smiling lovingly,"Tum khao (You eat it)"
Gopi took a bite but she was feeling really bad that here she was enjoying her snack and there her Ahamji was just standing there holding her bag and watching her. She raised the corn to Aham's mouth and looked up to him expressing through her eyes that she wanted him to have a bite.
Oh that expression! It was making him melt. How could he refuse his sweetheart when she was looking at him like that. He grabbed her hand that was holding on to the corn to stabilise it and then took a bite, spreading both his upper and lower lip onto the corn as if kissing it. All this while, he just looked at the changing expressions on his wife's face and his favourite part was when he saw her looking at his lips as he bit on the corn. He smiled inwardly and thought, baby, your patience will pay off, i will give you the best kiss of your life, but right now, you just show me that i am not the only one attracted. He then released his wife's hand and leaned in close to her as if going to kiss her. Gopi glanced around and moved back a little as her cheeks started to show a tinge of pink. He then changed the direction of where his face, or more appropriately, his lips were heading, towards her ears and whispered a breathy 'Thank you' before moving back and watching her.
As for Gopi, she could not resist the temptation of looking at her Ahamji's lips as he bit onto the corn. Her heart had already started beating faster from the second he grabbed her hand. The way his lips spread onto the corn as he bit onto it was just so sensual. Then when he started coming towards her as if he wanted to kiss her, almost made her heart stop but all he planned to do was whisper a thank you. If she said she was not disappointed, she would be lying.
Aham chuckled, his wife's face was just so expressive.
They walked around the mall a while more before Aham got another idea. Since the hotel was just a 5 minute walk away, they headed back to the hotel.
Gopi was confused and she asked her Ahamji what ws the plan, but her Ahamji just winked at her and said,"Pata chal jaye ga (You will know)"
"Arre! Ab bata bhi di jiye (Arre! Just tell me)" was Gopi's reply along with a frown.
Gopi then realised what she just did. Aham raised his eyebrows at her surprised. Did he just say that? Aham wanted to jump with joy. Finally she felt comfortable enough with him to actually say that. When he saw that Gopi was looking down, he just held Gopi's face in between his palms and banged his forehead with hers lightly and laughed softly saying,"Tum bohot pyari ho (You are very cute)"
Aham left the shopping bag in the room and just before leaving the hotel room, he grabbed a small towel.
To be continued...
Hope its not too draggy...it just focuses on GoHam and their love story...please don't get bored
