Seriously guys, WORST BOLLYWOOD FILM OF 2010!
The jokes were so bad, that even the ghaatis in the cinema didn't laugh at the jokes. I don't understand how Farah Khan can go from films like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om to a seriously crappy film like TMK. Clearly they've spent very little on the film, no big sets. I think they're relying heavily on Sheila Ki Jawani.
What was Akshaye Khanna doing in a movie like this? The guy is such a fine actor and he was totally wasted in his role. There were a lot of TV serial actors in here as well and I've seen some of those actors at plays in Mumbai and they are amazing actors. Again, totally wasted.
Also, why did Farah Khan think it was necessary to show that half the people in her movie were gay? So unnecessary! It's such a shame that Katrina looks so beautiful yet after doing a certain amount of movies, she STILL doesn't know how to act. Her acting was pathetic to say the least and it didn't help that she kept disappearing and re-appearing from nowhere. In fact I had a hard time trying to figure out whether Akshay-Katrina were playing brother-sister or boyfriend-girlfriend.
Only good thing about going to watch this movie was that I got to see the Dhobi Ghat trailer at last! Also, Akshay's acting was good but the story and the dialogues was too weak that even he couldn't do much.
I'm not exaggerating at all when I say this movie was really really bad. If you still wanna watch it, take paracetamol with you! ;) It's so hard to believe that Farah Khan directed this movie.
I read this online and thought it reflected how I felt about the film too..
Farah Khan made a low budget film coming on x-mas to make good chunk of profit and increase her bank balance. She knows people will come and watch it at least once in the name of akshay, katrina and herself. So she didn't care about story, sets, dialouges, characters or anything else.
Overall, very disappointing!
I haven't seen the film but I think I'll end up agreeing with you on all but one of your comments. Om Shanti Om was a horrible film and I havent able to watch it completely in one sitting because it's just atrocious.
Farah Khan used up her bank of jokes in Main Hoon Na, so she relied on film industry references in OSO. It seems she's fallen to her talentless brother Sajid's level in TMK. And she has fallen to his level not only in humour, but also in strategy.
In Main Hoon Na, she had a wonderful soundtrack, credible actors like Shahrukh, Amrita, Sushmita, Boman, Hrithik Roshan's bro-in-law (he was good in his role), Suneil Shetty, a good script. But this year, we have a film that rests on Akshay (meh), a pretty faced girl with no acting talent, a musical promotion dependent on one OK item song and the opportunistic time of its release. And that isn't a description of TMK alone, all of it also applies to Housefull, where the pretty face was Deepika, the song was Dhanno and the time was just after the end of IPL, when people had had no big film released for almost two months.
