Clause & effect game of Bollywood

PEDEN DOMA BHUTIA , TNN | Jun 30, 2011, 12.00am IST

Katrina Kaif More Pics
Katrina reportedly can't sign on the dotted line for 'Dhoom 3' because of her 'no bikini' clause

You make it in Bollywood, finally. Reams of scripts are on your table, finally. You can sign on that dotted line for Dharma or Yashraj, finally. But first, like every actor worth his greasepaint, you must lay down your conditions. So what will it be? A no-kissing clause? A no-bikini rule? How about the safest of them all – a no-exposure pact? Can't decide? DT brings you the clause and effect game that you get to hear around the corridors of Bollywood.

No bikini, please
Katrina kaif didn't mind shedding her clothes for "Boom". But that was then. Now, the actress won't reveal anything on screen but her talent. That includes her sculpted body and her bodyguards... Err... Boyfriends. But now with Yash Raj threatening her with, 'Wear bikini or walk out of "Dhoom 3"', will Kat let herself out of the (clothes) bag?

Two-piece bound by contract
Asin Thottumkal may do the "Dhinka Chika" with Salman Khan, but she has made it clear to her "Housefull 2" director Sajid Khan that she will not be dancing around in a bikini. She actually has a no-bikini clause in her contract – a wise anticipatory move – because in the prequel, Sajid had got both his leading ladies, Lara Dutta and Deepika Padukone, to don the two-piece. Now, poor Jacqueline Fernandez, Asin's co-star in "Housefull 2", has been saddled with the burden of singlehandedly upping the film's glam quotient!

Won't kiss the miss
Shah Rukh Khan may oblige you with a "Dard-E-Disco" showing his paet... Err... Packs and all, but the Bollywood baadshah says he is not comfortable kissing on screen. Recently, we heard that King Khan might lock lips with Kareena Kapoor in the upcoming "Ra.One". Well, no such luck; SRK hastily clarified that he would do no such thing. Wonder what/who it would take to get him to loosen up... Emraan Hashmi, step forward, please.

Prachi won't Pucker up
Prachi Desai may be just a few films old, but televisions's export to cinema started off with a finger on her lips: this Miss would definitely not kiss. Heck, if she could make it through a whole film without kissing, when her co-star was compulsive pecker Emraan Hashmi, we had to hand it to her. And if Emraan couldn't make her loosen up those lips, who else would dare? These lips sure don't lie.

No cosying up to anyone else
Saif and kareena were always tightlipped about their marriage plans. Now, they're just tightlipped. As in, they are not going to pucker up on screen. Not with anyone else. Hey, they said so on national television and royals remain true to their word.

Won't cross maryaada
Sonakshi Sinha might call herself dabangg, but she's not quite so when it comes to skin show. The actress, who sported nothing but saris in her debut film, ain't giving up the bharatiya nari look just yet. Filmmakers dare not try to make her change her mind: what with a mommy taking care of such eventualities as well as having a Shotgun at home!

Unicharm brings on board Percept Hakuhodo, ZO for new brand ...

?

Unicharm, a Japanese manufacturer of feminine hygiene and adult incontinence products, which had entered the Indian market in 2009 with Mamy Poco Pants, is set to launch its new product, called Sofysidewall, in the sanitary napkins category.

Unicharm India has roped in Percept Hakuhodo to take care of the entire communication activities for Sofysidewall, including ATL, BTL and PR. There was no pitch involved in the process and the alignment with Percept Hakuhodo comes from the company's association with the agency in Japan. ZenithOptimedia has been roped in as the media partner following a multi-agency pitch that also saw the participation of Allied Media.

Confirming the association with Unicharm for Sofysidewall, Saptarshi Sengupta, Vice President, Percept Hakuhodo, said, "We tied up with the company last year when the research for the product started. Percept Hakuhodo made presentations to the management in Japan since the company works with agencies like JWT, Dentsu and others on a global front and got the business aligned. We have developed the entire communication campaign for the product, which is set to release on July 7. We have roped in Prachi Desai as the brand ambassador for Sofysidewall and this is the first time a celebrity is endorsing a sanitary napkin brand."

The feminine hygiene category in India is already a cluttered space with the presence of various established brands like Carefree, Stayfree, Whisper, Kotex and recent entrants like She and Shapers. But the company was entering the market after a thorough market research, said Prerna Agarwal, Brand Executive, Unicharm. She added, "We have done an exhaustive research before launching this product in the market. We found that side leakage is a serious issue that every woman faces and we wanted to address that issue. Sofysidewall provides complete freedom from side leakage and this will be our USP. Our communications will also be focused in this USP of the product."

The product has already been introduced in the traditional trade markets on June 6 and will enter the modern trade in the next one month. The product has been introduced in the premium price category segment with three SKUs (stock keeping unit), Regular priced at Rs 49, Large priced at Rs 55 and Extra Large priced at Rs 65. The product will have a pan Indian presence.

Meanwhile, an integrated campaign is slated to be launched on July 7 to promote the brand on mediums like television, print, online and on-ground.

While Sofysidewall has Percept Hakuhodo as its creative partner, Dentsu will continue to work on the Mamy Poco Pants account.
