In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

On November.11, several Canadians bow their heads in prayer for the brave, bold and courageous soldiers who have lost their lives in the name of our freedom. A poppy is worn to show these soldiers and their families that we remember why their lives were lost. We remember their acts of selflessness. We remember the pain they endured for our sakes.

We remember.

And in remembrance to the countless number of lives lost for Canadian freedom, let us take two minutes of silence on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Let us pray for someone who may have lost a friend, a brother, a sister, a child, a wife, a husband, a mother or a father through war.

In honour of our brave Canadian soldiers, we ask that you place a poppy as either your avatar or your signature.

Not just Canadian soldiers but I think we should honor all the soldiers who have fought in war.

Remembrance Day is also celebrated in Engalnd so I'm guessing it's in all the commonwealth countries.

Did anyone go see the Remembrance Day Parade in Ottawa? I watched on tv...looked great

This Has to be one day in which I am grateful to everything around us and If it weren't for the brave men/women I don't think this world would be at its present position.

Thank you for this post. It was in my mind the entire day. We all should bow down to those canadian soldiers who laid their lives down for us.

hey i didnt know we had canadians here too xD anyways its a really sad day but im really proud of everyone who fought in war from canada..... OH CANADA
