Dabba 4 : Character Sketch and Story so far |
This post contains the character sketch and the story so far of Pavitra Rishta. It'll be updated frequently.
Character sketch
The Karanjkars
About the Karanjkars : hailing from and living in Maharashtra, this middle class family comes across as a close joint family; they own their house. Mr and Mrs Karanjkar have 4 children : the eldest is their son Vinod, who's married to Manjusha Lokhande and has 2 daughters, Punni and a baby girl. Next is their eldest daughter Archana, the main lead of the show. Following her are Varsha and Vaishali.
Manohar Karanjkar - played by Kishore Mahabole
Specialist at giving only one expression throughout the show : removing his glasses, wiping off his tears and wearing back the chasmas. This act of his helps the audience understand that he's sad, and gives a sadness effect to us as well. 
( ok don't take this seriously, it's just for fun, no offence 
)
Mr Manohar is a retired TC of railways. He's a very practical guy, who like his wife wants only good for his children. He's closer to his daughter Archana and he oftenly disagrees over his wife for his children's future. He helped Archana and Manav get together at the beginning of the serial despite knowing about Manav's family.
Sulochana Karanjkar - played by Savita Prabhune
Vinod is the eldest children of the Karanjkars. As his father, he too works as a TC ( Ticket Checker ) at a railway station. Just like his parents, Vinod is too protective about his three sisters, especially Archana. Vinod is calm and humble by nature, but can go to any extent when it comes to Archana, unlike his wife Manjusha. Although he doesn't approve his wife's attitude, he stays calm, composed and suffers in silence in order to maintain peace in the family. Vinod has two daughters, Punni and a baby girl.
Archana Karanjkar - played by Ankita Lokhande
Archana is the main lead of the show. She left her studies for her mother who was ill when she was studying her 8th, and has been taking care of the house since then. Hence, Archana is uneducated because of which she wasn't getting any good marriage proposals.Although she isn't educated, she's the dream girl of every men: she's beautiful, she's simple and nice, and lives for her loved ones rather than herself.
Archana was married to Manav Deshmukh, later divorced him and was engaged to Jaywant against her wish. She's now married to Manav again, whom she has always loved.
Varsha Karanjkar - played by Priya Marathe
She's the second daughter of Manohar and Sulochana. She's a modern and strong woman. Varsha has always been opinionated and has a tendency to shoot her mouth. She's very straiightforward, and because of this, she unknowingly hurts the others. She's dismissive about Archana's sacrifice for them. Although at first, she didn't like Archana as her parents loved Archu more than her, she's now more matured and eventually loves Archana. Varsha is married to Satsish.
Vaishali Karanjkar -played by Prarthana Behere
She's the youger daughter of the Karanjkars. She comes accross as a very fun ang bubbly girl in the family; but had always had a low profile in the family. Like her sister Varsha, she too had been thinking that her parents loved Archana more than her, because of which she wasn't fond of her. She even used to boast Archana saying that she is more educated than her. But now, just like her sister Varsha, she's more matured and eventually understood the value of Archana and loves her. Vaishali is now married to Dharmesh.
The Deshmukhs
About the Deshmukhs : The Deshmukhs live in a chawl, and they belong to the lower class. This family composed of 6 members is only financed by the eldest son for their living. Mr and Mrs Deshmukh have three children : Manav, the main lead of the show, Sachin and Vandita. Kaka, elder brother of Damodar also lives with them.
Kaka ( VilasRao Deshmukh ) - played by Sunil Godse
He's the eldest brother of Damodar. He had been a bachelor all his life, and had been living with his brother and family. He's the Head of the house and was the one deciding and advicing everyone including Savita. He played a pivotal role to bring Archana and Manav together. After the first leap ever on the show, it was said that Kaka died.
Damodar Deshmukh - played by Ajay Wadhawkar
Damodar baba works for a drama group. He was first married to another woman before Savita. Manav is the son of his first wife. Damodar has always supported Manav and Archana Jodi. He comes across as an irresponsible man and is always drunk, because of which his family ignores him and don't give him much importance. However his son Manav and his daughter Vandita give him respect.
Savita Deshmukh - played by Usha Nadkarni
Savita is the second wife of Damodar. She comes across as a very greedy and demanding woman. She is the head of the family, and easily gets into arguments and cat fights with her neighboors or any lady. She has always been fonder to Sachin and Vandita, her own flesh than Manav. In fact, she used Manav to get money as he's the only one earning for the house. After the demise of her son Sachin, she was closer to Manav, but not anymore. In short, she's money minded and was never in favor of Archana-Manav pair.
Manav Deshmukh - played by Sushant Singh Rajput
He's Damodar's first wife son. Manav is a handsome mechanic who works all day to earn money for his family. He is in love with Archana. He is a guy who has respect for his parents. He is not rich and he is a person who has no dreams. All his dreams are to be able to support his family financially. He is the only one that earns money in his family, so he has a lot of stress. He has sacrificed a lot for his family, and so he sacrificed his love for a period in order to take up his brother's responsibility. But eventually learnt to live for himself and hence, he's back to his wife Archana much against his mother's wish.
story so far
WANTED : we'll really appreciate your help here. I'd like a volunteer to sum up the story so far, as well as the character sketch. If anybody is interested in doing so, please kindly PM me. 
I assume I'll have to do it myself as well.. oh well
