Manish Malhotra Summer 2011 Collection flaunted 40 gorgeous evening wear creations for both men and women showed against rustic background of ethnic motifs and ornate lamps hanging from the ceiling.
Models stepped on the runway donning designs adorned with Chikankari work as well as Kashmiri embroidery. Summer vibes were coming out of delicate summer shades of aqua, green, powder blue and ivory.
There were voluminous lehengas, kalidar in net with silver zari work, floor length kurtas teamed with flared lehengas. Making Manish's designs fit for a variety of occasions were Rajasthani gotta borders. It was very different from Manish Malhotra Summer/Resort 2011 Collection.
As for Manish Malhotra Summer 2011 menswear, colors like beige, grey and navy were prominent in collection. Male models donned sharply tailored bundgala jackets, sherwanis, kurtas paired with either slim pants, Jodhpuri trousers, churidars, Pathani or cowled salwars.

Anita Dongre presented "Timeless" collection on the final day of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2010 featuring ethnic eveningwear, sheer whites, sparkling embroidery and sexy silhouettes. Saris came in shades of palest of pink, blue and of course crme with twinkling work all over.
Swirly Kurtas in mul with gota embroidery, kurtis worn with silver tights, sexy cholis, long skirts/ lehengas embroidered with the dazzling motifs of the desert region and highlighted with silver work – all beautifully blended to complete the collection.
The easy-chic vibe of this range will set the tone for your summer soirees!

When Manish Malhotra showed at the Delhi Couture Week, there were no Bollywood showstoppers. Instead there was Spanish Glamour. We saw what we expected from Manish – long anarkali suits, elaborate lehngas and a few saris with intricate chikankari and dabka work but it was the hues that were different. Manish said he used mostly international autumn colors hence the hues of beiges, off whites, black, burgundy and teal.

After watching innumerable starlets in blinged out lehengas traipsing the ramp at the Amby Valley Bridal Week, Manish Malhotra's show came as a respite. It isn't that Manish doesnt do embroideries and embellishments or doesn't use rich fabrics. But besides being a designer, he is also an ace stylist. He knows where to stop the bling. His embellishments edge the necklines, sleeves, hemlines but rarely cover the whole outfit. And ain't we thankful for that.

Bollywood's Badshah of glitz and glamour, Manish Malhotra closed the fourth day with a beautiful bridal line at Lakm Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2010. With Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee, Priyanka Chopra and other celebrities in the audience, Manish delivered a vibrant bridal collection in shades of blue, red and black peppered with heavy embroidery, zari, crystals, sequins and brocade.
We are so lusting after the deep blue wispy ghagara with gold choli and red dupatta. And the high-necked olive anarkali with glittery detail looks so regal!
