The Birthday
Nupur is shattered after the sudden death of her mom like Nanny and her fatherly figure Grandfather.She us left in a devastated state.The people who left her unexpectedly keep visiting her in dreams,still she forgets to smile.She is estranged from the happy world where all her loved ones get together.Pain dominates her.Her husband Mayank feels her pain,but he keeps silent.He longs to bring the smile back on her face.
"Nupur..get ready.We will go out",Mayank decides to take her out to freshen up her mind.
"No..i have no mood to go out",Nupur refuses to go on a date.
"Don't say like that Nupur.Please come with me.You need to go out to be fresh".
"Nothing can change my mind.I lost my dearest ones.I feel lonely".
"When i'm with you you don't have to feel lonely",Mayank comforts her.
"Get ready Nupur",he says softly.
Without saying anything Nupur goes and wears a salwar kameez.
Mayank gets disappointed by her dress.
"What a useless dress you have worn?Wear something nice".
"We are just going out.An ordinary salwar kameez is enough no?Why should we dress well?"
"You have to be well dressed as i'm taking you to a place where you have to present yourself well".
Nupur looks at him curiously,
"Where are we going?"
"It's a suspense.Wear a beautuful dress and come".
Nupur feels lazy to change her dress again,but he does it only for Mayank.
She wears a lovely white saree and white stone ornaments.
"Beautiful.You look cute in this saree".
She loves Mayank's compliment.
Mayank takes her to a place which is beautifull decorated with lights.
Nupur can't believe it,
Mayank..you did this?"
He smiles,"Yes.Did you like it?"
"Yes.But how could you..?I mean till now you never did something so romantic".
"I realized that i have to be romantic to bring smile back to your face.There is one more surprise for you".
Mayank takes her to the small room there.There she sees a chocolate cake.
"Wow!Chocolate cake.My favourite".
Nupur is excited.
"Happy birthday Nupur",Mayank wishes her.
She is surprised.
"Because of the recent incidents you forgot your dearest day..your birthday".
"You never showed any interest to celebrate my birthday before.But now..."
He smiles,"Let us cut the cake".
She smiles.
He sings the Birthday song and she cuts the cake.She puts the cake piece into his mouth.He cuts the cake and puts a small piece into her mouth.
Mayank and Nupur go out.
"Nupur..let us dance".
Mayank surprises her again.
"You never danced with me before.How many times did i force you to dance with me.But now..i just can't believe this",Nupur looks at him unbelievingly.
Mayank smiles,"I will go to any extent to make you happy when you are depressed".
She smiles.She thinks how lucky she is to get a loving husband like Mayank.
"Let us dance Nupur".
"But no music",she says.
"Let us sing and dance",he suggests.
"What?But we both can't sing properly",she feels awkward.
"That's ok.Let us sing for ourselves".
Mayank and Nupur hold hands together and dance.
They sing 'Pee Loon Tere Neele Neele Naino Se Shabnam,
Pee Loon Tere Geele Geele Honto ki Sargam,
Pee Loon Hai Peene Ka Musam,
Tere Sang Ishq Kaari hai,
Tere Sang Ik Khumari Hai,

Though they sing horribly it sounds good for them as it had the taste of their love and romance.
Mayank feels happy seeing Nupur cheerful after a long time.
