If TA really had so much love for Tulasi he should never have succumbed to his mom's emotional pressure. At that time since Tulasi was not showing any interest in him he went for the alternate choice.Suddenly Tulasi changes her colours , so too TA. How will Charu ever suspect a man when he has agreed for engagement with her. True she should have got little suspicion when he arrived late for the engagement ceremony. But then she could have always thought he was busy with his work , given his duty conscious nature.Lastly when he met her to tell his mind she stopped him may be thinking he was going to talk about Murugesan or police case. TA Tulasi kidaithavudan drop Charu like hot potato.[ How many rotten tomatoes on my way Wink ?

@ Srima, LOL no rotten tomatoes from me Big smile
I agree that TA did drop Charu when thendral started blowing in Thulasi's way, but if he didn't that meant he never loved Thuls. But I think he's not the type to throw away his mother for a girl hence why he kept so quiet for so long till the last week because he couldn't digest his mother disgracing Thuls over and over again all over the town.
If he chose Thuls over his mother a long time ago, that means he's not a good son. But doesn't matter now, because his mother hates him now so all that secret keeping was for no use.
Regarding Charu:
Charu's a nice girl and she thinks that the people and things around her as all nice too. So naively trusting TA was natural. Complete opposite to Thuls views of the world who though is a nice girl too, thinks everything around her sucks (except when she was in LaLa land with TA for a short time). So it was natural of Thuls to not trust anyone or anything so easily.
When it comes to matters of the heart, since its so vulnerable, it would be safer to be suspicious and more careful about the person's actions and body language than to just listen to their words of reassurance.

@eljay aunty:

You are right...every boy and girl should be serious with the engagement.I don't deny that. I did not say that Charu was wrong regarding this. It is totally correct from her POV. The both incidents you told in your post impressed me alot and no doubt their love was very true like you said without any phone calls or meeting each other. But what i meant was if this is possible in today's world. According to me, phone calls or meeting each other after (or before) the engagement is quite normal nowadays and these things come from both the side, and in this way they come to know more about each other, but in Charu's case those phone calls were coming only from her side. There i meant that she should have been more suspicious, sadly she was not, but her family was.

Yes, TA called her once lolly pop and it was over the phone and it was before the engagement itself. Is this enough for her to fall for him or to be attracted to him.And when they met he did not talk like he did when she called him, most of the time he kept quiet only.Insisting to marry the guy she is engaged with is not selfish. But insisting and blackmailing are different things. What she did when her father wanted to cancel the marriage means for me insisting. She was right there, she explained very well that her father is wrong if he cancels the marriage after the engagement, but that what she told her mother when she was not satiesfied with TA, was an emotional blackmail for me.She could have explained it to her in the same way she did earlier with her father in TA's house.

No,Tamizh accepted the marriage proposal only as he was in belief  that Thulasi is no more for him as she is in love with another guy(Anand). If Anand was not on his way he wouldn't have succumbed to his mom's emotional pressure. He didn't go for that choice wantedly.1)He had no reason to stop the marriage arrangements 2)Whatever,as he thought Thulasi is going to marry Anand,he has to marry someother girl in his life which can't be avoided. If he denied Charu, his mom would've shown someother girl.So he had to agree to the proposal.Devdas maari pogaama practicalaa irundaar namma hero that's it.

Yes I agree that Charu can't suspect a guy with whom she is engaged and is in love that much easily. But after seeing him marrying another girl when she is asking herself "why this happened to me?" she must've remembered his weird dialogues&behaviour and could've linked them up.Coz it's quite natural which happens to all of us that the old memories will flash related to the sad incidents.Even in Thuls case when she decided to forget she was getting his memories flashed. We actually didn't understand that's it.We weren't pointing out that as a mistake.Smile

Tamizh must've told Charu.Yes it is his mistake but we can't say that he dropped her just like that without any guilty feeling. Before Thulasi proposed him he wasn't clear about Thulasi's feelings, that is whether she is showing just her gratitude or what.So he wasn't able to tell Charu but it can't be fully accepted as he could've told atleast indirectly. Then after Thulasi's proposal,he wanted to tell Charu but this nut Anand kozhapified(bayampuduthified) him by advicing to take his own time to decide as it may've worst consequences bla bla bla Angry Inspite of this he tried one day but Lav-Niteesh stopped him and now in the park we all know very well what happened.Even when Thuls asked him to marry immediately he was asking time,he was hesitating only coz of Charu.I interpreted like this coz Tamizh knows very well how parents will react for love marriage and how to convince them after mrge as he is a love mrge conductor so he need not worry about his mom. That's y I thought it might be for Charu.

Ok if u want u can leave the last point.I am just trying to say that Tamizh didn't leave Charu's issue just like that.Ava kita solla theve illanu avan nenachadhilla.
I think now I am the one who is going to get rotten tomatoes Ouch.Anyways I just told what I felt.I am ready to accept if I am wrong really Big smile.

Right Nikila akka. That's the same thing I wanted to say. It may have been possible 40 years back when arranged marriages were the norm and girls weren't even allowed to see the guy before the actual wedding. But right now, things have changed. If you're engaged to a person, its only natural that you'll wanna find out more about him. And Charu may be right from her POV, but she doesn't even seem to realise that he's feeling disturbed everytime he's around her.. face a paathale theridhu.. she didnt even ask him a word on why he's sooo depressed and what's bothering him...

My mum's friend's daughter recently got engaged to a guy from the US (it was an arranged one by both the families) and within a week's time she found out that he was having an affair with another girl cos she found a pic of them making out in his wallet. She asked him about it and he denied everything initially but confessed when she interrogated him further that he only agreed cos of his parents pressure. The guy's parents had absolutely no idea about his affair etc! She was thanking god that she knew all abt this before the wedding and immed called it off and right now she's v happy. Now, what would have happened if she trusted the guy completely and insisted that she'll only marry him since she's already engaged?? She was about to dig her own grave but saved her pride cos of her timely intervention.

Anything is possible in today's world. Things like 'break up' and 'divorce' are becoming soo common so its better to play safe and get to know the person well, before putting your foot in, rather than just blindly trusting his re-assurance like Ranu said. Smile

Thanks for the wonderful update, TheivaThumbs Up

I somehow expected TA to speak up and mention she emotional forced him etc..but none of that happened.

I only felt bad for Charus dad when he hit himself with the chappalsOuch poor man tried his best to convince his daughter but went ahead with it by compromising but what he thought happend.

Regarding the debate about Charu being naive and not doubtful, agreed on it but any girl who gets engaged will start to have hopes and dreams about her would be hubby, i think she even tried to get known to him like that cafe scene etc He never called her but he indirectly lead into the darkness..he is a jolly type and cracks jokes..but he could have for once been serious and opened up..exp like that day when she took him to that orphanage and told him about her past...he had the chance to tell her about his one side love (since thuls didn't love him during that time) but he didn't.

He had his chances but didn't use that and when he wanted, he never got the chance:(

It was pathetic to see TAs mother thaalaimuzhukufies him..anger closed her eyes..she has never tried to understand her kids, so she is a good example on how parents shouldn't beThumbs Down

Padma got it rightly served from MMLOL Good of him to play that its my house cardLOL
