Originally, sisters tie the silk thread (Rakhi) on their brother's wrist and pray for their well being and brothers promise to take care of their sisters, but nowadays as neighbours and co-workers celebrate the festival, Rakhi has become more of symbol of peaceful co-existence, blurring all the differences of religion or language.
