chapter----6
arohi got down the train..carrying her bag. she stood serching for a coolie in the midst of all the scurrying people bt cudnt find one.. it was chilly and she was shivering.... the woolen shawl she had over the shoulders did nt seem enuf to cut out the cold.. suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder..and turned... immediately a pleasant smile appeared across her lips---tum? yahan?
manav smiled back---papa ne bata diya tha ki tum kab aa rahi ho..to bus hum chale aye tumhe receive karne... aarohi---thats soo sweet of u..thnk u.... manav took her bag----chalo tumhe apne cousin ke ghar tak chod dete hain....
aarohi---nhi..nhi..manav uski zaroorat nhi hain.. tumhe classes ke liye der ho jayegi... tum yahan aye.. yehi kafi hain... main khud chali jaungi....
manav did nt force her----accha thk hain... par station ke bahar tak to chod du.. chalo....
aarohi smiled agen and followed him silently...
though she felt lil odd bt she tried to make herself understand----aarohi.. ye wohi ladka hain jiske saath tu apni sari zindagi guzarne wali hain... to tujhe itna ajeeb kyun mehsus ho rahi hain.... are tu usse baat to kar sakti hain....
she cleared her throat----umm...to tumhare classes kaise chal rahe hain?
manav-----huh? kuch kahan tumne?
aarohi bit her lip----maine pucha tumhare classes kaise chal rahe hain?
manav----bas thk thak....kyun?
aarohi turned red at once----nhi...wo aise hi... suddenly she tripped----ouch.. manav caught her arm quickly and saved her frm falling down....
manav----r u okay?
aarohi----hmm.. she adjusted her dupatta...and lowered down her eyes.. she was feeling too conscious of herself.. is this feeling common in arranged marriages? god knows...!!! she sighed....
outside the station manav offered to escort her to the taxi stand bt she rejected this offer...
aarohi----manav.. tum pehle hi meri wajase bht late ho chuke ho.. plzzz main thk se chali jaungi..pehli baar thodi na aa rahi hu.. she grinned...
manav handed her the bag-----accha thk hain.. mujhe ek fon kar dena.....okay?
aarohi was moved by his wrds----sure... she smiled warmly....
manav shrugged his shoulders and took his leave,whispering a small BYE... while aarohi headed towards the taxi stand.... she was abt to hire one taxi wen suddenly another guy got inside the same... she shouted out in irritation----hey..... i hired it frst..!!! the guy turned..... it was none other than arjun.....
aarohi's eyes became wide in shock-----TUM?
the same reaction was there on arjun's face as well-----OMG...i shud have expected....!!!
aarohi----wat? wat do u mean?
arjun----aur kaun ho sakti hain jo mere piche piche har jagah pahuch jayegi?
aarohi----hey... arjun...or watevr... u r goinf out of ur limits.. get out of my taxi at once....
the taxi driver spoke at last----madam aap dono hi baith jnaiye...waise ye sahab to gurukul mein hi utar jayenge.. fir hum aapko chod denge... chaliye baithiye...
aarohi wore an irritated expression on her face and got inside... arjun stretched his hands and lega deliberately and pushed her to the corner...
aarohi-----apne haath payer apne paas rakho na.....!!!! idiot..!!!
arjun----huh? did u say anythng...
in reply she sneered at him... he smirked..... disgusted aarohi luked out of the window......
arhaan walked his bike to the repairing shop.... this was his bike...
the mechanic was known to him...he smiled----are aap? firse kharab ho gayi kya?
arhaan nodded---haan kya kare... iski umar bhi to ho gayi hain....
the mechanic-----to aap ise badalkar ek aur neyi bike kharid lijiye na....?
arhaan smiled-----aab... ye to iski galati nhi hain na jo iski umar ho gayi hain....waise bhi.... he paused and patted the bike...----ye pooja ko bht pasand hain..... main uska dil nhi tod sakta....
the mechanic looked at him with a puzzled expression then quickly changed the topic----umm.. aap ek kam kijiye..aap ise yehi chod dijiye.. hum ise thk karke apke ghar pahucha denge.... aap gurukul jaa rahe hain na?
arhaan nodded...
the mechanic---thk hain..aap chinta mat kijiye... hum ise thk se pahucha denge apka ghar...
arhaan---shukriya bhaiya.... he started walking....leving his precious bike in the garage.....
after he had left another mechanic came over to the previous one and said in a sympathetic tone----yaar.. aab ise kaun samjhaye ki iski biwi aab is duniya mein nhi hain... pagal ho gaya hain bechara..... jabse woh accident huya na...bas...tabse...bechara... he clicked his tongue sympathetically and went back to his work......
arhaan walked down the street towards the market..... he felt lil tired.... the mechanic's words rang in his ears----to aap ise badalkar ek nayi bike kyun nhi le lete?
he stopped walking and sat down on a bench at the side of the road..... he covered his face in his hands and let out a deep sigh..... some long lost memories came back to him.......
pooja was busy wiping the bike with a wet piece of cloth.. she used to do that evryday... she was soo engrossed in her work that she didnty notice arhaan whu slowly crept up behind her and grabbed her tightly frm the back.... she almost jumped up in shock.....
pooja turned and slapped him lightly on his arm-----arhaan kya karte ho....? maine kitni baar tumse kaha hain ki mujhe istarah daraya mat karo.....
arhaan tightened his grip around her waist and placed a quick kiss on her forehead-----kya karu..tumhe darane mein mujhe bht maza ata hain.....
pooja turned red at his kiss and looked down...trying to hide her smile..bt arhaan saw it.... he raised his hand at the back of her head and pulled out her hair clip letting her hair go loose over her shoulders.. he loved her that way.....
pooja tried to push him away----subah subah ye kya kar rahe ho? khud to kuch kam nhi karte...mujhe bhi karne nhi dete....
arhaan smiled and edged his face closer to hers....the essence of her loose hair turned him crazy.... ------pooja.... he whispered in her ears......
pooja----hm?
arhaan-----tum humse zyaada hamari bike se kyun pyaar karti ho?
pooja giggled.....
arhaan luked disappointed-----tumhe hasi aa rahi hain? kabhi to hamari itni seva nhi karti jitna iska karti ho?
pooja ruffled his hair with her fingers in a loving manner----bapre...ek bike se jalan ho rahi hain tumhe?
arhaan moved closer to her...she moved away....ultimately stopped by the bike at her back.. thus she was trapped in between him and his bike....
arhaan-----ha ho rahi hain.... to..? kya karu bolo?
pooja----dekho.... main is bike se bht pyaar karti hu..pata hain kyun? kyunki iske saath bht sari yaadein judi huyi hain... tumhari yaadein.. yaad hain tum kaise chup chup kar mujhe milne ate hain mere ghar pe? isi bike mein hum dono college bunk karke ghumne jate the... yaad hain ekbar tumhara accident ho gaya tha.. aur main kitna royi thi.. do din se khana nhi khayi thi.. tumhare liye..... lekin jaise hi tumhe hosh aa gaya pata hain tumne sabse pehle kya kaha tha?
arhaan pretended nt to remember-----kya? kya kaha tha humne?
pooja-----hume bhuk lagi hain... tumne yehi kaha tha....
arhaan laughed out loudly-----sachmein kya? oh my god....
pooja grinned too----mujhe iutna gussa aya na..kya batau..... yahan main tumhare liye bhukhi pyaasi baithi thi aur in janab ko sirf khane ki padi thi.....
arhaan cntinued laughing.....-----i cnt believe this....!!!!
pooja----haan..... aab samjhe.. is bike se main itna pyaar kyun karti hu? kyunki ye hamari pyaar ki nishani hain....
arhaan lowered down his voice-----accha? aur hamare asli pyaar ki nishani ka kya hoga hmm?
pooja pushed him away,blushing----tum bhi na... mujhe bht kam hain..... jao tum yahanse......
arhaan lifted his face frm his hands.... his eyes had no tears...bt his face looked so pale... so lost...... he wiped his face in his sleeves and got up.... then in slow,scattered steps... he agen started to walk towards the market.........
