Aamna Shariff:
Birth Date: 6th March/ 16th July
Aamna Shariff became a household name by appearing in Balaji Telefilm's Kahiin To Hoga. Kahin To Hoga was aired on STAR Plus from September 2003 to February 2007. Her character, Kashish, became very popular in this serial. Kahin To Hoga is the only serial Aamna Shariff appeared in and she played the role of "Kashish" for three years. The story revolves around five sisters: Kashish, Mouli, Mehek, Kanan, and Charu. Kashish is the oldest and the most loving, caring, and dutiful of all the sisters. She is the ideal middle class girl whom every man dreams of. The story takes a turn when Kashish falls in love with a rich arrogant industrialist, Sujal. Before their love story could reach the next phase, in an unexpected twist of fate, Kashish ends up being the wife of Piyush, Sujal's friend and this creates a serious misunderstanding between the two people. Smriti Zubin Irani:
This lady has stopped appearing in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi which not only changed the face of TV soap opera in India but also the fortune of Balaji Telefilms. Smriti Zubin Irani rose to top playing the character of Tulsi, wife of the Virani family. Born and raised in a Delhi based family, Smriti's father was a businessman and mother was a popular Bengali actress, Tripti Mitra. She was the eldest of three sisters. At the age of 18, Smriti told her father that she wanted to come to Mumbai for work. In 1998, without anybody's knowledge, Smriti Irani entered in Miss India contest and fortunately, made it to the top five. In the competition, the dress she wore was designed by famous dress designer, Manish Malhotra. At that time, she borrowed Rs. 200,000 from her father promising that she would return the money. Desperate to clear her loans, she did various odd jobs. In the meantime, she worked as a TV anchor and did small roles in different TV serials. Saakshi Tanwar:
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii are the two trademark serials of Balaji Telefilms. These two television serials were immensely popular and can be referred as milestones in the history of Indian Television drama. The way Smriti Zubin Irani found success with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Saakshi Tanwar also became a star of Indian television for her character of Parvati Bhabi in Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii. Born and brought up in a middle class family in Rajashthan, Saakshi Tanwar studied at Lady Sri Ram college in New Delhi University. From her college days, she was doing acting. Saakshi was the secretary and the president of the dramatic society. Saakshi first started her career as a TV anchor in a Doordarshan film song program titled, Albela Sur Mela. However, it is her character in Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii, the loving, caring, dutiful wife "Parvati," that made her popular as an actress.
Shweta Tiwari:
Another major Balaji Telefilms production, Kasautii Zindagii Ki, turned Shweta Tiwari into a major TV star. The serial went on for six years starting from October 2001 to February 2008. In this TV serial, Shweta played the role 'Prerna.' Born in 1980, to Nirmala and Ashok Tiwari, Shweta was first spotted by a well-known director in a dance competition. She then landed with a role in a TV serial titled Kaleerein. Head of Balaji Telefilms, Ekta Kapoor, noticed her in a serial, Aane Wala Pal and approached her for her role in Karam, Kaahin Kissii Roz and finally, in Kasautii Zindagii Kii. Aside from TV serials, Shweta also worked in Hindi movies such as Abrakcadabra, Madhoshi, Din-E-Intezaar, Dahek. Shweta also appeared in a Bhojpuri movie, Hamar Saiyyan Hindustani. In 1999, she got married to actor and producer, Raja Chaudhury, and they had a daughter named Palak. The couple got divorced in 2007.
Gauri Hiten Tejwani:
Daughter of a army officer, Gauri Hiten Tejwani, moved from Pune to Mumbai to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Gauri also enjoys psychology and wants to become a psychological counselor. Gauri Hiten Tejwani first caught audience's attention with Kutumb. The serial is a love story between two different people: Gauri and Pratham. Son of an industrialist, Pratham, is a rich spoiled brat and a womanizer. He does not believe in love and commitment. On the contrary, Gauri is this middle class girl who is independent, honest and hardworking. Destiny brings thetwo together and they end up in marriage which was obviously a very unhappy one. Juhi Parmar:
Juhi Parmar was born in Kabul but raised up in Jaipur Rajasthan. In 1999, she won The Miss Rajashthan title. An actress, Juhi also did anchoring and appeared in reality TV shows. From a very young age, Juhi wanted to become an actress and after finishing her study, she came to Mumbai and started living with her uncle and aunty. She first appeared in a TV serial titled, Jee Sahab. It was directed by Manjul Sinha. She then worked in a thriller series, Who. Her big break came with the serial Shaheen, which was aired on Sony TV. She then went on appearing in different TV serials. Finally, she hit it big with KumKum. The serial was aired in afternoon. Juhi played the central character 'Kumkum,' the wife of the Wadhwa family.

She is the ideal daughter, Shruti, of Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii. A Jaipur girl, brought up in Mumbai, Tina Parekh started her career as a model. She started with comedy TV serials like Hip Hip Hurray, Dollar Bahu, Khichdi. She then appeared in a TV serial titled, Kahani Teri Meri. She first got her taste of success with Balaji Telefilm's Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii. Her character, Shruti, in the serial, made her immensely popular in the Indian household. She also appeared in other Balaji Telefilm serials on regular basis such as, Kasauti Zindagii Kii. For her character, Mukti, in Kasauti Zindagii Kii, she received many awards. Tina even appeared in a Maharashtrian movie, Satya Bol. Tina is married to Vikram Harza, a talented musician. On 9th February, the couple celebrated their first marriage anniversary at the Ashram of Sri Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Bangalore with two of their friends who got married on that day. Panchi Bohra:
Born on February 23, 1985, Panchi Bohra's father was an army officer. Her parents are currently living in Pune. During her undergraduate program at Fergusson College in Pune, she got the offer to work in the famous Balaji soap opera, Kayamath. In the beginning, she was not sure about the role but then she met with Ekta Kapoor, the head of Balaji Telefilms. After talking with Ekta, she decided to do the role and the rest is history. Before Kayamath, Panchi worked in another MTV soap Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi and appeared in few TV commercials but she got success with Kayamath. In Kayamath, Panchi Bohra's character's name is 'Prachi Shah,' who is married to a low class businessman. Already, 'Prachi Shah' is immensely popular among viewers. Till now, I have been talking about Ekta Kapoor protgs. This lady did not get her big break working in any serial whose title starts with 'K.' She became popular playing the Indian version of Ugly Betty, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. Mona Singh played the central character, Jasmeet Walia, also known as Jassi. Jassi is an unattractive, nave but intelligent woman. She wears big glasses and braces on her teeth. Due to her merit, she ends up working in a reputed fashion company, Gulmohor. Armaan Suri, the boss of Gulmohor, is a womanizer and despite knowing about him, Jassi could not resist falling in love with him. The serial went on for three years and became immensely popular and turned Mona Singh into a major TV star. The main problem was people remembered her more for her ugly Jassi character.
