FRIDAY -- Manja Thanni & murder attempts
First half of the episode if all about the manja thanni! Some random old guy runs around asking girls to pour the colored water on him; nobody does so he takes and water and pours all over himself. Vetri's teammate (don't know his name; he was the funny one in the team) sees this; he takes some manja thanni and chases after a girl called Priya (one of Rema's friends; the one who winked at him in the games).
Vetri's friend in the end throws the maja thanni all over an old married lady. The lady's husband shouts at him and the couple leave. Vetri's friend continues running after Priya, who has by now probably escaped far far away.
Meanwhile, Vetri-Rama chase comes to a stop. Rema is cornered by Vetri and he eventually pours the manja thanni over her. She gets annoyed and he laughs at her. As Rema is wiping herself with her davani, JC walks by. He sees Rema and calls her. Rema looks worried and Vetri hides. JC asks Rema who poured the water. Rema gives some excuse that her female friend poured it on her by mistake. JC tells her to clean up and leaves. After JC leaves, Vetri tells Rema thanks from where he was hiding. Rema tells him to get lost and leaves.
Meanwhile, the girl Valli has once again found JC. JC runs away again and yells at her to stop. But in the end, as expected, the girl pours manja thanni all over JC and runs off, giggling. JC is standing and staring after her, wondering who that girl is. That's when Rema comes over there, calling him. Rema looks a bit shocked and upset to see JC all covered in yellow water. Rema now questions JC and he explains that some girl chased him and poured water on him. Rema says she has the rights as the mora ponnu. JC tells her that of course she also can pour the water on him since he's already all soaked because of some random girl anyway. Rema pours maja thanni all over JC. Rema then tells Jc that Charu is also waiting to dump the water on JC. JC surrenders and says he himself will go over to Charu.
Meanwhile, the rowdy guy in Vetri's team (the one who used the blade to slash JC) takes some manja thanni and pours it all over some girl; she tells him to go away but he asks her what she will do and comes near her. The girl is frightened and calls for her mom. Her mom comes over and scolds him. He argues back.
As usual, JC comes to the rescue and pushes the guy off. The rowdy guy tells JC that he lost the game and has no rights to argue against the winners. The rowdy dude says that the loser village is like a slave to the winning village so in his opinion, all the village girls are also like slaves for him. JC gets very angry when he hears this and starts beating up the guy. This fights attracts everyone's attention; a huge crowd is formed. Valli, Rema are all worried. Vetri and his gang also join in the crowd; people from both villages are there either fighting or trying to pull apart JC and the rowdy guy.
Ayya arrives to sort things out and gets the fighting to stop. He learns what happened. Ayya yells at both JC and the other guy; he tells JC to set a good example. If there are any problems, there is no need to resort to violence. While Ayya is in lecture mode, Mk's bro slips into the crowd with a knife behind Ayya. He swings the knife towards Ayya but then Ayya turns away so he misses.
Mk's brother tries to hide the knife away but Vetri's joker teammate sees him with the knife. He looks horrified and whispers "Ayyo! Katti!!!" Mk's bro calms him with some placating facial expressions and drops the knife. Mk's bro leaves the crowd. Ayya warns the rowdy guy not to try anymore nonsense and tells the guy to leave the village and never show his face here again.
After that, Ayya also leaves; as he leaves, he sees the knife and warns both villages of the consequences of their silly actions. The crowd disperses. At this time, Rema corners Vetri and lectures him. She tells him that so much fighting happened because some guy from Vetri's village poured manja thanni over some girl from Rema's village. She says if it is like that for some girl, imagine how much trouble you can get in for pouring manja thanni over Ayya's daughter. She warns Vetri not to test her patience and says that one word from her could end his life. She warns him to stop disturbing her or else. Rema leaves and Vetri disappointedly says "Che!".
Meanwhile, Mk and his brothers meet up. Mk tells his bros that tomorrow is the last day of the thiruvizha and their last chance to kill Ayya. Mk tells his brother that tomorrow, Ayya will be carrying the Amman statue in a oorvalam procession around the village. He tells both brothers to disguise themselves by smearing sandhanam (sandalwood paste) all over their faces and join in the crowd that will follow Ayya.
He tells one bro to go over and replace the guy holding the umbrella. He says if either of you get the chance, use your aruval and get rid of Ayya. Both bros agree to the plan. Mk adds that Ayya will be defenseless because he has to hold the Amman statue in his hands. If he puts the statue down, it is a sami kuttam and the village cannot have another thiruvizha for 50 years. So, Ayya will never release the Amman statue form his hands. As such, that would be the ideal time to get rid of him.
Next scene, the pujas are done to the Amman statue while evryone looks on and prays. Ayya carries the statue around town and people follow and pray to the goddess. Kula is all dressed up and wearing sunglasses. Both of Mk's brothers accompany him and he tells them to go forward and mingle with the crowd...
Thodarum...
