Meet The Characters : Papad Pol - Shahbuddin Rathod ki Rangeen Duniya

Vinay Chand Parikh

Vinay Chand Parikh is the apple of his mother's eye.According to her he is the most eligible bachelor of thePOL. But the reality is something else. He is as dumb asdumb can be. His foolishness has no limits. He hasn't even Seen the world outside his Pol. Many educated teachers have tried to educate this 32 year old but have miserably failed. He has repeated each and every class at least 3 to4 years. When he outgrew the benches of the classroom he was asked to leave school. His world is his mother and the Pol he lives. His only stress in life is that he isn't getting married as no one is ready to give their daughter.Our dark and loving Vinay Chand is easy to fool and fall game to any pranks…but all know that he has a heart of gold.

Jayantilal Parikh

Jayantilal Parikh is Vinaychand's father and the most respected person in the Pol. He is educated, religious and wise. Jayantilal is always hassled by his wife Kantaben but he never complains. He is hopeful that one day God will listen to his prayers and that a wise girl will come in Vinaychand's life who will take care of him…Jayantilal loves his family and takes care to see that his wife and son sail through despite of their foolishness. He gives us the moral of the story at the end of each episode.

Kantaben Parikh

Kantaben Parikh is Vinaychand's mother. She is selflessly in love with her son and sees no fault in him and to convince herself about his dark skin She keeps repeating that her son was a very fair and beautiful baby when he was 15 days old but due to some bad nazar her son has been jinxed. She feels that her husband Jayantilal is not bothered about their son's marriage. Her foolish genes have been passed on to Vinaychand. She loves Vinaychand to a limit where she hasn't let him grow in his head.Kantaben is indifferent to her husband's philosophies as they are too much for her sensibilities. Her only prayer to God is that she shouldn't get a daughter in law like her husband.

Kokila Parikh

Kokila is Vinaychands wife. She is 4 Steps ahead in Terms Of Dumbness. She is an extended version of her mother in law Kanta ben. She takes very good care of Vinaychand's brother's kids. Her only aim is to keep her family happy. She has also rejected by many men in the past as she is very conscious about looks…she wants to marry a handsome man and she is aware about her beauty in a cute way…she isn't arrogant about it .She follows the strict rules of her mother to keep her in laws happy. She has a nasty habit of twisting the last alphabets of the words Of the sentence.

Ghano Ba Darbar (Bapu)

Bapu is that man in the POL who is loaded with attiude. He has the biggest house in the POL and his house requires the maximum repairs. He has a habit of rhyming Peoples names when he is talking.He has very quick  mood swings. He has a very assumptious nature and its mostly negative and destructive. Anger walks hand in hand with him and he normally takes out his frustrations on things.He hasn't been able to accept that his authority is no longer with him but his attitude is very authoritative . He has two kids Dalip Singh Darbar,10 yrs and Deepti ba,8 yrs. He is a bit scared ofhis wife Ranjan Ba. He is very happy to have the
Prettiest woman as his wife in the POL.

Ranjan Ba Darbar

Ranjan Ba, Bapu's wife belongs to a very rich family and is very proud about her looks.She addresses herself as an apsara. She always wants to show off her parents wealth
and is very conscious to Mention the money paid forwhatever she has bought.Behind closed doors she rules her husband. Ranjan Ba feels that no one in the POL has any comparison with her.

Batuklal Mehta

Bhavna Ben Mehta

Bhavna ben is the teacher's wife and she is also tecahing kids in the POL. She is a very organised and sorted woman. She makes the opposite person repeat what she says often…She believes in Simplicity also . She has something against Ranjan Ba.

 

Labhchand Merai

Labhchand Merai is the tailor of the POL. He is too fascinated by the British and feels they were the ones who could manage the country. He is a very cunning peron…in Gujarat , they call such people "mendho"

Daksha Ben Merai

Daksha ben is the tailor's wife. She quite a cry baby and pessimistic in attitude…She is very complexed that she belongs to a poor family…whenever she is mentioning  a good news she makes it sound like a bad news…

Manu Bhai Patel

Manu Bhai Patel is the most networked person of the POL. He has a great optimistic approach in life. The worst times which come to him , he will say it as if nothing happened. He is kind of a conman and owes more than half the city some money.

Hetal Patel

Hetal is Manu bhai's wife. She has also learnt to con people to her convenience. She is fed up of creditors coming up to her door for money.

Jivlo

Jivlo is primarily Bapu's servant but he does odd chores for all in the POL. He is a simpleton and wants to o to America to work. He tries to save money but is never successful…he hardly has any respect for Bapu but in front of him he behaves as if Bapu is GOD…He is the biggest gossip monger of the POL
