Dhamaal 2 is on the cards
After the runaway success of Dhamaal, the producers were planning a sequel. It has been almost three years, but there has been no news of the sequel going on the floors yet.
Post Dhamaal, Sanjay Dutt got busy with big-budget movies like Luck, Blue, Kidnap, Aladin, Lamhaa, All The Best and No Problem, all of which have released since then except No Problem and Lamhaa, which will release in a couple of months. Riteish got busy with Aladin, Do Knot Disturb, Rann, Jaane Kahab Se Aayi Hai and Housefull, and all of them have released. The rest of the cast, comprising of Jaaved Jaaferi, Arshad Warsi and Ashish Chowdhary, were also busy with multi-starrer comedy films.
Dhamaal 2 or Double Dhamaal was supposed to release in 2009, but the release was postponed due to script problems. Indra Kumar directed the original, and is directing this one too. Arshad Warsi refused to be part of the sequel because he wants to reduce his multi-starrer films, and has been replaced by Aftab Shivdasani. The film will release in late 2010 or 2011.
When contacted, Riteish said, 'We are aiming at recreating or improving the magic of Dhamaal. We hope the new project is successful.'
