Do you know that Alexander the Great was a homosexual, Julius Caesar was a homosexual? And many other great kings and generals have been homosexuals. And the reason? .....Continuously fighting, continuously on the move, battling on the front women not available .....sex starts turning towards homosexuality. Soldiers ....people in the army, navy, air force, start turning homosexual. Monks, nuns start being homosexual or lesbian, becos monks/priest are not allowed any women in the monastery..repressed mind change their mentality, they feel angry, jealus or they try to find different unnatrual things in life, thats why I said repression is not good!!.😃

Some one asked the same question on YM and one of the answers there nailed our psyche when it comes to nudity vs. voilence.  Quoting that person here:

"It's absolutely amazing how many people equate nudity to sex. Then equate sex to po*n. This is why people are scared of it. They have been brainwashed to believe, by religion, that anything openly sexual is sinful. It doesn't stop at nudity either, many nursing mothers feeding their babies in public get a lot flak. Bare breast are conjured to be nasty things that need to be hid. Much less the other parts of the human body. At least until they get horny, then you are suppose to get naked behind closed doors and do all kinds of sex acts, like it's to be expected.

Violence is practically a past time. People feel like they need it, like they would see watching people fight, to be good for their own self defense. This is warped because you cannot learn how to defend yourself watching all kinds of forms of violence. It only promotes fear, and everybody in America tends to like a good campfire story, so they have a good reason to be scared. Just look at how popular Halloween is.

Our priorities are definitely screwed up. The no nudity thing actually creates perversion. Creates pedophiles. Creates unhealthy attitudes towards sex. Yet the human body, nude, just standing there, is about as natural as it gets.

Violence on the other hand creates fear, desensitize kids to aggressive tendencies. I believe people do not see the direct connection. If they could see their kids watching a violent show, and then the kid went out five minutes later and killed someone, they would blame everyone but themselves for not thinking this stuff through, and yet that is really the real problem. Our collective minds just cannot think logical stuff through, so we fear the boob and welcome violence."

True that.  In some tribes, women being top less is a norm.  They don't associate any hawww with bare breasts.  The so called civilized world does though.  The offense is more to do with mindset than the after-effects.

Its not true that people equate nudity with sex.. who is YM?? Yashodhan mhatre!!!??? Nudity could be a precursor to sex... which is why it is curbed....you dont want your 10 year old to get an erectiuon looking at topless pamela andersson and then make his neighbor 10 year old girl pregnant... ...which again ok as along as all the mothers and other conservative folks are.... simple as that.. but sometimes it should be spelt out clearly.......

On the other hand vioence is our baisc nature we shouldn't suppress teh violent instinct in kids.. it keeps their creativty sharpened....

I think it's because we grow up in countries (or are raised by people who grew up in such countries such as Pakistan and India) where violence is an everyday thing. We'd have strikes, random shooting, crooks from the government parties randomly coming in and terrorizing the people or threatening them in Pakistan. And not only that but we were encouraged to fight back if our religious beliefs, etc, were threatened. Violence for violence. For most people such violence is considered courageous even. Sad but true.

Nudity, like some have said, is seen as leaning toward sexual tendencies. Again, in such countries, sex is emphasized as a means for reproduction only, even within married couples. The problem with that is that the more people demoralize nudity, the more people will want to see. Nudity, like sex, is a natural part of life. You are nude when you're born. I'm pretty sure Adam and Eve didn't have access to clothing. And before the advent of religion, I'm pretty sure nudity wasn't seen as a forbidden, immoral thing like it is today.

Generally speaking people have better success at curbing violent thoughts than controlling carnal desires.
Nuns, priests and monks take vows of celibacy to abstain from sex and lascivious thoughts. We don't think of violence as much and as often as we do of sex.
Very simply put watching nudity or objects of sexual nature arouses people sexually whereas watching violence on screen doesn't make you want to go shoot people.

Yup...I think its becouse society gives respect to the false.... Society is not respectful to the authentic and to the real, bcos the false can be controlled, and society is deeply interested in controlling everybody....desire for reward keeps society respecting the false...& bcos the false is respected, each small child slowly starts following the false.... Parents teaching, teachers teaching, religious leaders teachings ... the whole effort is to give you a certain mold that is acceptable to everybody..... the end result is a phony world, where nobody is real, where smiles are false, where love is only a word...😊

Only men think of sex all the time.
