I started reading Agatha Christie around your age. I think they're very much age appropriate. Because they were written in a different time period there isn't as much gore and violence as you may get in modern mysteries and the focus is really just on the mystery and finding the killer.
I'd suggest "And Then There Were None" because it's one of the all time classics, it doesn't have any of her detectives in it but it is a great introduction to her writing style.
I'm glad younger readers are still willing to give Christie a try, she's well worth it.

For me...

And then there were none
Murder on The Orient Express

will ALWAYS be my two favourites because they were the first Christie novels I read and I fell in love with Poirot and Christie's writing after those two. Day Dreaming Murder on the Orient Express especially, because of the ending - but I won't mention that here! LOL

I'm a HUGE fan of AC books! I have so many favorites - but the ones that stood out were - Five Little Pigs, Sad Cypress and And then there None! Btw, to anyone's who's read 'And then there were none' - who was rooting for Vera Claythorne and Philip Lombard to get together? I know, I was. Lol. Too bad they almost ___ each other. (It's a spoiler, so I won't fill in the blank.) LOL

i simply love agatha christie's whodunit novels...after, sir arthur conan doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, she is my favourite mystery story writer. I am fond of both the characters she created- Hercule Poirot(inspired from Sherlock Holmes, as she herself admitted) and Miss Marple..

among all the novels written by her my favourites are- Hercule Poirot's Christmas, A Murder is announced, Lord Edgeware dies and Sleeping Murder
