I heard that too and was wondering if the name is Veer or in Punjab, elder bro' is referred to as Veer....

His name is not Veer...I think its suppose to mean 'older brother' in punjabi.

Even Geet calls her cousin Brij 'Veer ji'. If Dev's name was Veer, his wife Naintara wouldn't be calling him Dev.
