I think they are going kinda slow with Geet..from yday it's all abt ladke walas! If  Geet is going to get married to this guy and Guru is his brother..then I guess we have a 'kora kagaz' storyline !

Kora Kagaz was a serial on Star plus with Renuka shahne and Salil Ankola..the elder bro marries Renuka but leaves her on wedding night..but she stays with his parents and becomes friends with his younger bro and its their love story

I think he is free lancer now. production team takes him at the beginning or as starter then after 1-2 months he switch another.
