I am frankly absolutely shocked!!!!

Firstly to glorify and misrepresent rape, the perpetrator and the vistim's role reversal and then obliterate the entire thread so as not to leave any evidence!!!

No guys I don;t think this should be allowed and punitive actions against those who question the highhandedness of the moderator must stop pronto!!!

We are all members of this forum and we have every right to demand an explanation and the reinstatement of the objectionable thread!!! and an apology to all those who have been censured and whose opinions have been gagged!!!

We are all fully grown up and adult mature individuals who have many things to do, working individulas many of us and everyone should be treated with respect and should be allowed to have his or her say in any matter. In other words Aye aye for freedom of speech!!!!!

I couldn't have said it better. Freedom and accountability go hand in hand. Impressionable young minds need to be protected from unsuitable content. And if one claims to publish questionable material under the guise of freedom, they had better learn to take responsibility for it. Rather than wiping out all traces of the said infraction, the 'responsible' thing to do would've been to own up to it and apologize.

And to the moderators and those higher up in the echelon, this is a public forum. All ideas and thoughts should be welcome even if they differ from the viewpoints of those "in charge". It's only through debate and discussion that we will begin to see things from a different perspective.

Like Milton said - it is up to each individual to uncover their own truth; no one is wise enough to act as a censor for all individuals.

So please do the responsible thing!

a heartfelt aye

Reading the outpourings of the moderator on the FF she authored was frankly alarming. She had trivialized a crime as heinous as rape by blaming the victim and turning the rapist into a hero. When this started raising an uproar, she ended her 'work' by suggesting the possibility of a romance between the victim and the rapist. She further proceeded to exercise her 'housekeeping' powers by locking and trashing the thread.

Why aren't the rules 'governing' the forum applicable to her?? She is very quick to stifle any discussion/post which, in her opinion, dares to question her authority. If in romanticizing a hateful crime against women, she was exercising her right to freedom of speech then she has to extend the same courtesy to those who disagree with her. Locking/editing/trashing of opinions not in concurrence with her expressed views is a misuse of authority that deserves censure.
