i don't understand why this post was made....when u mean plagiarism are u talkin about not copying the storyline of another person's ff or not copying a storyline from the many movie's and shows we have watched. I understand the first part that copying a storyline similar to someone else's ff is wrong....but makin ur storyline similar to the shows and movies u watched isn't that wrong....because it is hard not to have a story similar to some shows and movies that we watch, there will some similarities....even the shows themselves take similar storylines from movies don't they?? Sorry I am not against the post I just want to make sure of what you mean before I put both of my ff's back on this forum...they are kind of old from the KSBKBT and KS forums but i didn't continue in a while because of college and then came on to this part of the forum and see this post so just want to make everything clear...my ff's are different but they will be similar to movies and shows people watch but just not a copy from someone else's ff....unless u want us to cite which every part in the FF is similar to what show or movie??
I mean i just want to understand what exactly to do so that if i do put my old FFs here i am not violating anything...certainly not want to be accused about anything even though when it is not ur fault...nor do I want to hurt anyone's feelings unintentionally u know wat i mean??

second one is Ishq Hua which is in this forum but closed since i haven't gone on it in years...i was wondering if u can open it so i can continue, a on this post I understand wat u mean...thanks for the post because I certainly don't want any one to copy my ideas either and it is sad to hear what other ff writers have been through.

Thank you for trying to clarify this issue before posting your stories. We really appreciate your effort to follow the rules.
The definition of a Fan Fiction states that it uses characters and situations from pre-existing work. Most of the Fan Fictions here are based on TV serials, and our writers indirectly give credit to the TV serial every time they said "AR fic" or "fiction based on MJHT." There is no need for any further credit or to obtain permission from the original writers as long as the work is not going to be published.
If there are aspects of the fan fiction that are inspired by other sources (books, movies, etc), then the author should give credit to each of those sources in the first post of their thread or in the post where the inspired scene is. Same thing applies to taking ideas from other fan fictions, except in this case, it would be preferable to get permission from the original author.
Under no circumstances is a fan fiction writer allowed to copy and paste entire passages or even sentences of someone else's work without their permission, whether it be lines from someone else's Fan Fiction or dialogues from a TV serial. We can allow some leeway in this regard, for example, if there is a catch phrase that a character often repeats and it has become part of his/her personality, then in that case, you can use that phrase without obtaining permission for the TV serial creatives.
