I liked the line RTH used in one of her posts on another thread - banning paki-cricketers is like closing the front door while leaving so many windows open for terrorists to come in and target us.
High time us Indians get realistic and point fingers at where the fault actually lies. Their cricketers are not the one who are bringing these terrorists in or failing to control the terrorists attack on Inidan soil --- our politicnas harbor the terrorists when it suits their agenda and our politicians are the ones who don't let the defense forces and police to do their work uninterrupted. But banning Pakistani cricketers would send a powerful symbolic message to them that we will hit back too, and com'on it is least GoI should do. It should ban Pakistani artists too, ban overhead flights to Pakistan, ban any trade with them...try and cripple their economy. Not that we have any shauk to do all that, it is just that they won't learn.
You are basing that on the assumption that banning Pakistani artists and cricketers, cutting off trade and ties, crippling their economy has a significant long term impact on the terrorist organizations. That the terrorist organizations really care that you are hospitable and welcome Pakistani's, that they really want the ordinary people in Pakistan to prosper and flourish. No terrorist organization is going to be like gee wiz, they won't let us play cricket, sing songs or buy and sell stuff - maybe we should play nice. This would be a viable solution if what you propose deals a crippling blow to terrorism itself. Instead it is a blanket attack that may or may not affect the terrorists, but will affect lay persons.
