Ballika Vadhu bags another award

Balika Vadhu has bagged "The Best Drama Series (Fiction)" award at the Chevrolet Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards which unfolded on 8th Jan, 2010 at Chitrakoot Grounds, Andheri, Mumbai.





On this exhilarating moment Sunjoy Waddhwa, CMD, Sphere Origins Multivision Pvt. Ltd. said "It's a great honor for us to receive the Apsara Film and Producer's Guild award, which is a platform shared by the talented personalities of our film fraternity. It feels great that people recognize good and honest work which has a social message. I thank Colors who believed in us and carried the show across the country to a wonderful audience who could relate to a different kind of subject. I give my special thanks to Purnendu Shekhar and his team for writing this fabulous story, our directors Sidharth Sengupta and Pradeep and also to the entire cast and crew of Balika Vadhu".

The Chevrolet Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards is the Guild's endeavor to honor excellence in cinema and television by the stalwarts of the industry itself. Over the years, the Chevrolet Apsara Awards has acknowledged talent, perseverance, innovation and pure artistry. The night has seen over 30 awards being presented in categories of films and television. The Television industry is represented in the Best Non-Fiction Series, Best Drama Series (Fiction), Best Director - Fiction, Best Actress and Best Actor in a Drama Series.

Set in rural Rajasthan, Balika Vadhu traces the arduous journey of child bride Anandi from the brink of childhood to womanhood. Balika Vadhu very sensitively portrays the plight of children who are unwittingly forced into marriage in the name of tradition and have to bear the repercussions for the rest of their lives. Balika Vadhu not only propelled fortunes of the channel, but gave Sphere Origins a firm recognition.

ITA awards 2008,Mumbai,have broken a magnificent record by winning 10 awards for the Best Serial – Drama, Best Actress – Drama, Best Child Artiste, Best Director- Drama, Best Actress in a Supporting role, Best Actress in a Negative role, Best Title Music, Best Dialogues, Best Teleplay and for the Best Videography.

The Indian Telly Awards 2008,Mumbai,won 6 awards for the Best Production House, Best Programme with a social message, Best Child artist(Female),Fresh New Face(Female),Best Actor in a supporting role(Female),Best Actor in a Negative role(Female).

Received the Best Foreign Drama award at the Tokyo International Drama Festival, 2009.

The Indian Telly awards Nov 2009, Mumbai won 4 awards for the Best Daily Serial, Best Child Artiste (Male), Best Child Artiste (Female) and Best Supporting Actor (Male)

ITA awards 2009, Mumbai won 9 awards for the Best Child Artiste (Female) Best Supporting Actor (Female), Best Actress in a Negative role, Best Director, Best Videography, Best Dialogues, Best Teleplay, Best Title Music and Jury award for Best serial Drama.
