Friday's Updates
1st scene
It is time for nitchiyathartham at the mandapam. Kulasekaran has come for the function; Ayya's sons behind him. All the elders are seated happily. Ayya and Collector's Dad exchange garlands. Pazhanimanikam reads the pattirikkai and then asks if anyone objects. Kulasekaran objects saying his son JC was supoosed to marry Ganga; so, this marriage must be stopped. Ayya's sons look happy.
Everyone else has a shocked face. Ayya, Natchiya, Sk's dad, etc. all protest. JC objects saying that he has no more interest in Ganga. Pazhanimanikkam says since JC is not intersted, no point in stopping this engagement. Kula falls silent. Ayya and Sk's dad exchange the tambulam thattus. Natchiya and Subbu bring the engagement sari to Ganga.
Ganga walks out looking very shy and happy. //Boring! I prefer her as a Nilambari!// She falls at the feet of the elders for their blessings. Everyone leaves to eat and celebrate. Ayya's sons and Kula remain behind. Karthik asks his mama why he became silent; Kula tells him to wait and see. Kula again repats that he will stop the wedding. //Same old dialogue! What a waste of time!//
Next scene
Ganga sits at her dressing room. Her sisiters tease her a little bit. Ganga asks them to look after Sk and his parents. She also tells them to talk with Sk about her IAS exams tomorrow; she wants to know how and when she'll get to the exam center. The sisters go talk with Sk. Sk says that the exam has been postponed. Jc brings cool drink for Sk; Sk only accepts the drink after Jc reassures him that he has also given Ganga cool drinks. //Another useless scene. Where is Ila? She is missing in this episode...//
3rd Scene
It is night-time. Natchiya, Subbu and Muthu sit down together to chit-chat a bit before going off to sleep. Ganga and her sisters come sit there too. Ganga says she is not feeling sleepy. Her sister complains that Ganga has not even eaten properly. Natchiya gently teases saying that she too remembers how nervous and excited she was before her wedding. Mani comes there too with mruthani for Ganga; all the young ladies are asked to at least go try to sleep. Ganga's sisters ask Mani to sing a song. Everyone then agrees and after a lot of coaxing, Mani finally begins to sing.
Mani sings a song about a girl who will never forget the one she falls in love with. Everyone listens happily but Sk looks a little bit guilty and Ganga has a bit of a symphatetic expression on her face. In between, they show scenes of Mani in flashback praying ton the pillayar and then finding out about Sk-Ganga marriage and meeting Ganga and so on...Svadivu and Sara are both also shown looking at each other sadly now and then.
In the end, Mani turns away and finishes her song. Both Ganga and Charu see that she is in tears. Mani leaves, goes somewhere private and starts sobbing. Ganga and Charu follow her. Ganga tells Charu to stay behind and Ganga approaches Mani...
