- What are your thoughts on Draco Malfoy?
Another very realistic character of JKR's. He was at first the ideal symbolism for a school bully, and most of us probably never expected much else from him for the rest of the series, but he grew to be a character much more than that and who was being forced to do something which was not in him (murder) to keep his family safe. We see the more Slytherin side of Draco, like the negative qualities of cunningness, saving his own skin at the cost of others, etc, but we also see the positive aspects of Slytherin in him, like the ambition and straight-mindedness. In the end, Draco became a more liberal minded person than he was before (symolized by the curt nod he gave Harry in the epilogue...he'd never have done that in their school years) due to the horror he saw could happen if evil is supported. Though probably not fully liberal, I think Draco's getting there.
- Do you think his character was well-developed?
Very much so, his character was another one of those we didn't think much of other than what we saw outside, but were given a whole different story.
- How far do you think he would have gone astray if his parents had influenced him his entire life?
He'd probably have become a death eater, but since Voldemort already died by the time he became an adult, he'd probably have become one of those corrupt politician people like Fudge or Umbridge.
- Any other comments on Draco?
A very well thought out character of JKR's, and played magnificently by Tom Felton. Honestly, Felton was Draco Malfoy in the 6th film!👏
