Chinese Emperors too had several concubines and some of them never got to spend even one night with the emperor. But these days it is different:

In China, the policy of one-child families coupled with selective abortion of girls has produced "surplus" males. Such men are called "bare branches," and China could have 30 million of them by 2020. Perhaps polyandry—women with multiple husbands—would be the logical response to the situation in China. What will happen instead is that these lonely, wifeless men will end up sleeping with a relatively small number of women—prostitutes—with severe risks of sexually transmitted disease all around.

Ok so not let the woman take the upper hand: Polyandry man!!

I just feel it's all a matter of opinion, seriously there are people all over the world that have more than one spouse and the others are totally ok with it! I don't know, if the others are fine with it, should it be legalised? Big question... But then, everything has its side effects, so I guess hard question as always!

One of our Managers in China has just gotten married for the third time after divorcing his two previous wives. Wonder what the world is coming to.

If two females are ready to marry me same time...I dont mind ....lol LOL

bt I feel both man and woman are polygamy in nature...My previous post /topics I mention my views about marriage....marriage is just a legal prostitution which support the male hegemony in society.... Smile

with marriage will go the unnatural and forced monogamy, with marriage will go rapes and prostitution, with marriage will go the forced castism and religion and superstitious thoughts transferred by parents to their children. Smile

we know all this things...then also everyboldy like to marry one or more.......lol Wink

it's not only chinese emperors, some chinese officials or who belong to a family of nobility or a rich family often have more than one wife and a lot of concubines.

even though they apply the rule of one child policy today in china, there are still many people who have more than one child especially those who can afford it. i got a friend from china who has 7 siblings.
