A while back when Miley Cyrus featured in Vogue magazine with her bare back exposed, there was a hue and cry over sexualization of teenagers. Miley stated several times it was an innocent photo shoot that was interpreted to be more sexual and provocative than they intended, and that the family had discussed with the magazine before it was published. However, despite that she eventually issued a public apology to people and her fans for the allegedly racy photos

Now as the New Moon movie fast approaching and publicity increases everyone has seen the promos and posters with Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob. Most promos feature him shirtless, appearing well built and sexy. This is intentionally done for Jacob/Taylor fans so they may swoon over the all sexy grown up Jacob. The thing is even he is only 17 just like Miley. He too is a minor just like Miley. This is not a one of photoshoot, but a entire movie being promoted on his appearance and sex appeal with Twilight fans.

Both he and Miley have a largely teen following, but have exposure to older fans as well. Demographically, Twilight fan ages range wider than Hannah Montana.

Why was there a concern over Miley's photos but Taylor's photos have no questions raised?
Are there different standards for men and women when it comes to publicity?
Who do you think is victimized - Miley or Tyler? Is Miley the victim for having to endure the controversey - or is Taylor the victim for being used by promoters like this?
Is it because Taylor is male - no one cares if he is a minor being promoted like this?
Or is it just that Taylors pictures are perfectly fine and only Miley's pictures were racy?

1. A girl half covered with only a bed sheet, her hair slightly sleep dishevelled looking at you with a li'l coy smile curling her lips.
2. A guy wearing a jeans standing bare chested in a forest.

I will go with the first one as more sexual. Not because of the amount of skin that is shown but cos of the intent of the picture.

I forgot to add that even though the first pic is more sexual compared to the second one, it's not even remotely obscene. Moreover, she might have a largely teen age following but that's in the TV programs. I don't think Vogue is meant for teenagers. So, I fail to understand why should someone apologise for something like that.

Yes the pic of a half naked girl is pretty suggestive.
Men walking topless is pretty common and the pose does not seem to have much of a sexual content.

But yes a pose by a guy and a girl is always measured with a diferent yardstick.

Nope no double standards, Women have more private parts then men, If either tries to expose those there is an outcry. Now dont complain I didnt make that up, God and society set it up this way. You are free to change the rulesLOL
