I think respect is the most important thing in genuine love. Its not really love if the two people do not mutually respect each other. Without genuine caring and respect its lust, obsession, affection, crushes, infatuations, puppy love and all sorts of things - but not genuine love thats worth marrying for.

And when there is genuine love you do not need crazy tricks and things to impress each other. You can just spend a quiet afternoon watching TV or reading together or just doing nothing - and feel that you have had the time of your life.

Hmmmm well there are few couples who ONLY respect eachother its surprising but true i've come across so many people who state we respect eachother but yes i agree to you too eventhough i feel you don't to love someone you respect like i respct every DM member but i dont love everyone here marraige case is different though.

While respect is important for me in a loving relationship, I don't think I can live on respect alone. If so I would have run away and joined a monastery in the Himalayas as I once pondered. LOL
