Hmm, my favorite books would be obviously the Harry Potter series, Anne of Green Gables series, Pride and Prejudice, The Forbidden Daughter, the Dowry Bride, and anything by Mary Higgins Clark!

hmmm....Yes i agree with all of your choice they all are good but what makes harry potter stand out in all books is that its just not another story book but it cherished selfless friendship, different form of love, joy of winning loosing, helping other, victory of good against evil, it makes you understand all substance in life with ease and expresses how being good helps you.Its awesome its take you back to the innocent world you dream of in your childhood days.

Anne of Green Gables series :sorry but not read heard much about it,

Pride and Prejudice is definitely one of my all time favourites. What make this book above all other is the sharpness in developing each character to perfection and so beautiful that at end of book you feel that you have spent years with them.Jane's book's biggest strength is dialogues all of them are so well written and contains all forms of speech with satires mostly used. The book so well explain the thin line between pride and vanity and how sometimes being prejudiced about someone can cost you so much.

My add ons:Ps i love you,Two states,anne Frank diary of young girl,Sherlock holmes,The gift,Emma

Lol, and I still pick up a good Nancy Drew book every once in awhile if I have nothing else to read. They used to be my favorite when I was younger!

yup i use to read them too but i prefered watching its movie because they were really good and i've got a huge crush on girl playing lead.Enid Blyton books were better for me.

I love reading fantasy, mystery, suspense, and romance novels and absolutely bored out of my wits by science fic novels.I also love reading Historical Novels if the time period of the novel is of interest to me. Anyone here read Neela? It's a kid's book but superb! And anyone read Water? It's sooooo sad but a really good read.

but my first preference would be love stories

Books I did not enjoy (and usually there's not many since I love books in general) are the DaVinci Code (don't know why, though all my friends love it), the Twilight series, Jane Austen's Emma, and the Catcher in the Rye (was there any point to that book?)

hmmm agree with other but why emma??
it was very good it had moments and was humorous to some points it even outdo pride and prejudice i think
Books I did not enjoy :Da vinci code, twilight series monk who sold his Ferrari, list is long

Hmm, yeah, I agree that Emma definitely had the substance to outdo P&P, but it bored me a lot in the beginning. Though I def enjoyed reading Austen's portrayal of society in it, the plot was very slow-paced and the characters not as well developed as in P&P. P&P was fast paced, caught your attention with every page, and got you to relate with the characters, especially Elizabeth and Darcy, because they had lots of faults we today have as well.Smile

Never read the Monk who sold his Ferrari, but agree with your other two.

You should read Anne of Green Gables, it's superb! And the last book in the series, Rilla of Ingleside, takes place during World War I and it's very touching and sad, but awesome all the same.Smile

Yeah, here's the list...

1. Anne of Green Gables (Anne is 11-16 years old)
2. Anne of Avonlea (Anne is 16-18 years old)
3. Anne of the Island (Anne is 18-22 years old)
4. Anne of Windy Poplars (Anne is 22-25 years old)
5. Anne's House of Dreams (Anne is 25-27 years old)
6. Anne of Ingleside (Anne is 34-40 years old....but this one centers more on her 5 kids)
7. Rainbow Valley (Anne is 40-42 years old.....but this one also centers around her kids)
8. Rilla of Ingleside (Anne is into her early 50s.....but this one centers around her youngest daughter, Rilla Blythe, who is 15-19 in the book)

How could the books end with the 1st one? Anne and Gil did not get together in it.WinkLOL

No, each had its own name....the last three center around Anne's kids more than her. It's like reading Anne of Green Gables over again, with different 'little kid' problems and different kids.Smile The last one is the best one after the 1st, but I love Anne's House of Dreams a lot too.Big smile

They all are good in their own way, but I like Anne's House of Dreams the best. But you hve to read them in order, because they are like a continuing story.
