About the Navratri - a lot of Gujju families do staaphna and bring a garba which is a colored and decorated pot with holes and a diya is lighted in it for all the 9 days. Pooja and fasting is done for 9 days and at night garba is done around this pot. That is what they are talking about.Baa wants Santu to bring the garba into the house and do the staaphna. This would mean that DM would have to eat food (prasad) from Santu for the 9 days. On the tenth day (Dussera) the pot is immersed in water (ocean or river).Hope I have been able to explain in a way you all can understand.
