Arabic and Farsi are both beautiful languages, actually. It is amusing to listen to the languages in songs and not really know what is being said although I can once in awhile pick up some word Urdu borrowed and it makes me feel smart.

I'd say that Urdu is a combination of both Farsi and Arabic. There is a lot of common words between the both languages. I love Farsi, especially. I started to learn it, but got lazy, but I can ocassionally pick up on the conversation when my Persian friends are talking in Farsi :)
