Wednesday - Patsy again  -  Before starting the update, Pat starts to sing "Enge Nimathi, ange enaku or idam vendu, ange enaku or idamvendum....................athurvum Kasthuri serial illatha idam vendum"😭.  Daughter comes running with a bucket to catch the tears!  Enna kodumai ithu! Okay, okay, it is my turn, I know!  When will this story end, EK and Jagdu?

eljay cannot sing a la Roja and Pat, so here goes - an update in plain prose:

Update for Thursday, Sept 3, 2009:

Mother and daughter are still sobbing over the letter.  Mother remembers Jayanthi telling her that B was innocent, she tells M, M gets upset and goes to look for B.  How does she know where to look?   S is worried about her daughter going out alone at night.

Kasthuri is thinking about Ram and crying.  Ganga and her dad come into the room and dad tells Kasthuri that she has to take care of Ramu (romba chella peyar vechirukkaar) and restore his physical and mental health.  She says she doesn't know enough, but he convinces her and tells her to start the next day itself.

Mangai returns without Bharath, mother and daughter cry some more, then they lie down, daughter cries some more, and says she is going to look for him the next day.

Bharath's friend's mom is returning from the temple, a girl comes and tells her that Jayanthy is in her house, mom says B had come looking for her in the morning, they go together to get Jayanthy.

Ganga's house, time for a group picture.  Ganga's dad says he is trying to get Kasthuri into med college (without taking the entrance exams, I guess!  Folks with children, please note - to get into med school without exams, this is the person to find!), K takes their blessings before going to take care of Ramu, everyone poses for pictures.

Ram is calling for the nurse (there is a baby picture behind him - was this room previously used as a maternity room for some other serial?), she says he is a real pain, no friends or family to take care of him (he wants to use the bathroom) and she is the only nurse in that ward and she has other things to do (one more reason why I will never go to a hospital in India, the nurses there are anything but helpful and kind).  She takes him to the bathroom, K comes there, she says she is going to take care of Ram, nurse feels sorry for her, calls her a "paavapatta janmam".  K asks nurse not to reveal who she is, so nurse wants to know if she knows Ram already.  Totally unnecessary on K's part, all she had to do was say that her name is Sharada (a la Paalum Pazhamum).  Oh well, EK doesn't know better!  Camera freezes on K's mushy expression!

Friday 4th Sept 2009  

 

 

Continues from yesterday.   Vaathu being vaathu wants to keep her identity a secret and the nurse cross questions her.  Nurse decides to tell that she is mute (dumb.. 😆 )  Ram comes there and falls..The nurse and Kasthuri help him.  The nurse introduces vaathu as the asst sent by the psych doctor..  Ram asks for her name and nurse says she is mute, the nurse escapes saying she would be his help.  Ram starts philosophising. Concludes that he has behaved badly and that his tongue had been wagging too long.  Since she cant even tell her name, he decides to christen her Kasthuri.  Tells that Kasthuri was very fond of him and repents for all his acts.  Asks her to help with his tablets.  Shocked, happy whatever that expression meant Kasthuri gives him tabs and  Ram goes off to sleep. 

 

Jayanthi  lying down.  Aunty (sorry i forgot her name)  and the other friend come... Aunty wants reason for leaving their house..  Jayanthi doesnt want problems because of her.  She is advised that problems should be faced and not run away from (engala paarthu dhaan nee indha paadam kathukittanu engalukku theriyum)   and tells her sOga kadhai when her husband died and how she faced life.  prachanaiya paarthu bayandhaadhaan adhu prachanaiye she says and takes Jayanthi with her. 

 

A doc visits Ram.  kasthuri goes to get medicines prescribed.  Ram polambal thaangalappaa. Decides that he wants to see this asst once his eyes become alright !!  Mangai goes to Bharath's factory to see him.  Co-workers say that he has not reported for work for 3 days.  Mangai on the road again with the same BG... rests under a tree near a temple wondering about Bharath's friend Raja's address which she does not know !!

 

Ram again with his sOga kadhai blesses Kasthuri that she will do well in life for helping him.  Kasthuri tells to herself that he knows of her arumai perumai only now.  Ram complains of leg ache and the vaathu queen massages his legs.  She keeps watch over sleeping Ram...  enna kodumaida idhu...

Mangai in search of Bharath. Raja's mom sees her. Takes her
home saying that Jeyanthi is with them. Mangai says that
she knows the truth " hubby yai thedi vanthen, Jeyanthi
kidaichaale.." Vaathu doing sishrushai to creep Uh huh
( oru rendu moonu husbands stock panni vaichinda, onnu
ponaa innonu irukkum, what say?? smart vaathu !!) Mangai
meets Jeyanthi - mutual crying. Vaathu doing more panividais.
gets up in the middle of the night to give medicines.  Creep
wants to have some outing "mottai maadi please.." Vaathu
uses her club feet to lead creep..creep repenting uh huh

Kashtamo kashtam, innikki Kasthuri update irukku enakku!😭Thursday

Update for Thursday, Sept 10, 2009:

Kasthuri is being helped by the woman in blue with the tiffin carrier.  Kasthuri refuses to take help from this woman, asks for her name.  She says it is Porkodi, and wants to take K to a kalyana mandapam nearby where her brother is the wedding contractor.  We are shown the mandapam, her brother, Selvam, and how good he is at arranging things, then we get a guided tour of the kitchen and an intro to his employees.

Ram at Ganesh's house.  Ganesh asks if he has escaped from jail, so he relates his story of his blindness and how Kasthuri helped him and now he is searching for her.  He says he wants to see her before he surrenders in the evening and cry at her side (should be at her feet!).  Ganesh tells him about Thiru's accident, how she transferred everything to Kavya's name, and then left without telling her father or Kavya about Thiru's death.  Ram is stunned, and then he goes and stands before Kasthuri's picture, and lo and behold! it is a picture of the old Kasthuri!

Monday 14/9/09

Vaathu reaches the new pond - all dote on her (uh huh)
Ganesh meets senior kadu kadu on the road who cries
as usual about her darling son , gets to know that creep
is with Ganesh..goes to meet him.

New pond - the sisters engage in some light hearted
bantering. -- Vaathu watches... smiles...(uh huh )
Senior kadu kadu with junior - cries and says that
the reason for all their sufferings is vaathu - " I made
sure to make her suffer.." Junior says that vaathu is
an angel.

Confession time - creep says that he killed Rekha - mommy
refuses to believe him but creep makes amends for all
his acts - confesses that he assisted in killing Rekha's
dad too - tells mommy that only vaathu will take care of her
- " not me ... i am searching for vaathu..to apologize..
