Harry Potter was written as  basically a childrens book..... then why do soooooooooo many grown ups enjoy reading it?  Enid blyton, nancy drew, hardy boys etc were fun as kids but wouldn't touch them with a barge pole once we crossed about 16yrs maybe?

Not the same with Harry Potter.... even the movies are loved by young and old alike .

Why?

I think that'z becoz the books r not only meant for kids. The gripping story line the technique of story-telling mastered by Rowling is unique to her style.... though she admits she has aped a few older authors in the story-telling style.

lets see if I can get any1 to back my view.
