Well we are taught to live in society and runaway from it.LOL
Sometimes when there is too much restrictions we get negative results as the whole thing backfires.

yes the internet is an extention of your reach. TV is less important now.

In a way religion is changing-
The same thing when read by different people in different times = many different interpretations.

Religion's main emphasis on the simplest matters is the most important and there are no multiple interpretations about it. But few follow the first few basic steps and they start arguing about other matters.
Basic fundamentals are the same and basically all religions wants us to be good and loving.
If a person is good and loving, he does not need any religion; but religion will follow him.

Some "New" religious groups modify and change the traditional "old fashioned" religions too, and sometimes make a mess of it.
Often this is a result of political manipulations and greed.

isn't that just the way of life. new people will come and disagree with the older school of thought and start another one. some people think that the new movement they are doing are not actually changing to become a newer, more liberating kind of religion, but going back to what was the original as they believe that the current religious institutions are straying from the way of truth and righteousness.

Yes it is very common with new movements and even in several religious groups power and politics plays a major role.

Tinkering with present rules and making changes can be dangerous as it provide avenues for people to go astray. For eg. the Catholic Church does not recognise divorce  and remarriage in any form. Other Christian groups allow this and so do several other religions. Who is right and who is wrong is subjective and arguable.

i'd say, no offense to the catholics and catholic church that even catholicism have gone astray from the basic doctrine of chrisitanity. for example, popes in the past who swore the life the celibacy in the past have mistresses and bas***ds.
