what is your opinion about cloning? the possibility of human cloning raised after we had clone sheep 'dolly'. but the most important question is should humans be cloned? please express your views.

i am still uncertain about it but here are my pros & cons for it.

pros:

if successful cloning of organs will help in transplants and matching organ donor types. it will be a major step to combat many diseases. the common myth about cloning is that we will have a replica of ourself. No!! cloning doesn't mean i have a duplicate 'me'. my clone will be different in many ways but important thing is we will have similar blood types and Rh factors, basically similar genetics. so we will always have a potential donor in our life😊. it also helps many women to become mothers. we have been doing plant cloning for so long. growing another plant from the cut of another plant isa type of plant cloning.

cons:

but is it ethical? should we tamper with god's creation? wouldn't it be misused? how many would be comfortable with the idea of someone very similar to us. will the donation of cord blood (for stem cell research) be used in a good way? what if our clone is genetic mutant? is asexual reproduction ethical?

No opinion till now coz i never actually gave it a thought but i think its not that good.i think to have new life biological way...is the best way.instead of making what is already there the time and energy plus money put to it can be used in some other new development. πŸ˜›
Human cloning will be another human.but if u spend that worth in finding or inventing like new technologies ...will help a lot πŸ˜›

Although i don't know much about cloning except that stem cell research is helping in curing Alzhemiers disease and certain other medical purposes .Therefore i dont have strong views on it !!
I have read little news reports on how its a ethical issue , where its used by fertility specialists to reproduce a person who is genetically very similar . Although i am a VERY VERY STRONG advocate for Infertility treatment , i don't know how reproducing a baby that is similar to a parent will help a infertile couple . If you are dealing with infertilty all you want is a normal , healthy baby ....with his own personality and characterstics ....not someone just like you .So maybe there should be restrictions on this reserach and use !!

Also i don't care about arguments that use religon or god as its basis . Thats nonsense to me . I'm a beleiver that god gave us a free hand to help ourselves ...........so if it helps mankind .....medically .......Definately !!

I personally think that it's unethical!!!! ONly God can save us and give us what we want so I don't think it should be done!

But that's really religious view others might disagree!

Naina if the whole world had these views , we'd never have found cure for even tuberculousis , hepatitis , cholera ,pneumonia etc etc ......forget Cancer , AIDS ,Alzhemiers etc as we are still figuring those out . Theres a saying "God helps those who help themselves !!!" I think it holds true ............meaning God expects you to do your karam ............work for him ..............have we discovered what does he want us to do and not to do ????

I respect your religous thoughts but i feel medically they should never be made an issue ...........ETHICALLY ....YES ....Thats a different angle of the debate ............!!

Yes Aparna as I just said that's only my opinion and my opinion related religiously. That's right God helps those who help themselves but have you ever thought what is the difference between us and God?

Well, I think it's that he can actually give life and we cannot and if we advance towards doing that there will be no difference... which I am sure is not tooo good!

I respect your views but pnemonia and diseases you mentioned are different thing just medicines not making another organ or a person!

But thinking about it again, I would say cloning organelles is okay at least fine but cloning a whole person would not be okay with me.

Well, I think it's that he can actually give life and we cannot and if we advance towards doing that there will be no difference... which I am sure is not tooo good! Naina eventually its god that can give life . Man may use artifical methods in an attempt to create , fertilise in the lab .........but if its worked .....its gods will ....and only gods will !! Man can attempt as much thats in his powers to create it .....only god can send soul to that fertilised zygote!!

I respect your views but pnemonia and diseases you mentioned are different thing just medicines not making another organ or a person! I respect your views too , but when i mentioned these diseases i meant that due to mans work in science has man found sure to these diseases .....also making another organ ....will have cure for bigger medical diseases!!

But thinking about it again, I would say cloning organelles is okay at least fine but cloning a whole person would not be okay with me. I am with you in this , cloning organs is great ..........but cloning a person is ethically wrong .!!!!

In my summation i want to say ,man can do everything in his power(again thats the power god gave him) to fertilise in a petri dish , but its god that will give life to that fertilised zygote .Therefore i belive god wants us to help ourselves (meaning work towards advancement of medicine).........only then will he help us .( give it life or basically success in the experiment).
I think cloning a person is ethicaly wrong  but not  cloning organs !!
