Its medically proven... Smiling keeps a person in better health!!... ;)

Personally, I feel if something does no harm, why stop it? A smile is sometimes the best gift or mood lifter you could provide someone... ;)

I just randomly remember something: "Remember, somewhere in this world, some else will be happy, because you'll always be smiling"... Remembered it from on of those movie dialogues... If am not mistaken, its SRK from Chalte Chalte....

Who knows? Who just knows there might be someone?...... ;)

So never stop smiling!!.....

A Japanese rail firm has introduced a system to check that staff are smiling at all times. Is a smile key to better customer service?

The Japanese value good customer service and it is standard practice on trains for smartly dressed conductors to bow deeply as they enter or leave a carriage.Embarrassed

Computerised scanners at around 15 train stations in and around Tokyo will evaluate the broadness of a smile and advise those not smiling enough that they look too serious.Confused

The system is also being used in a hospital in Osaka to check the friendliness of staff, as well as at a truck stop in the northern island of Hokkaido for long-distance drivers to measure their tiredness.

What are your experiences of customer service where you live? How important is it for staff to smile? What do you think of a system that monitors how much staff smile? Should we all smile more?Smile

its important to smile a smile shows that u are welcoming and creates a pleasant atmosphere, as long as its not forced though.  smiling and laughter are also said to be good for ones health.

well my experience of customer service is one that is mixed sometimes its positive with service with a smile other times not.  Aa far as monitoring staff on there smiles goes that is hysterical ROFL coz i agree smiles wud make for a better working enviroment but to be monitored that's a joke i'd hate to have to be forced to smile at work that mite lead to a drop in productivity coz the depressing affect that costantly smiling can have especially when ur not in a smiley mood.  i say for smile monitoring just let folk get on with there work in peace
