Ganga looks the the window andis shocked to see Muthurasi and her husband coming with the thatu. She sits down worried. Ayya happily invites both visitors and calls Subbu out. Muthu gives the thatu to Subbu and asks herto give the flowes to Ganga and the others. Subbu goes in and tells Ganga about hte visitors coming to propose their son. Ganga tries to tell her mother something but Subbu starts saying that for 30 years they have been snubbed by Ayya's family. With this alliance, their family would get the respect due to them by the community. Ganga tells her mother ok. subbu brings Ganga out and she takes blessing. Ayya asks Muthu if she likes Ganga and Muthu says yes. Kulasegaran wants to know if Gangga agrees to the proposal. Ganga tells them if her parents agree she too agrees.
Ganga's sisters are at the temple. Rama tells Charu that when Ganga told something good has happened, she did not think that it would be in the form of a proposal feom Kulasegaram. Charu says Kulasegaran's proposal is sudden but she feels Ganga meant something else. Ram does not agree and says Chara is confused. Charu says the best thing is for them to ask Ganga direct and leave.
Collector tries to call Ganga on her cell. Ganga seesthe no. and panics. She does not know what to tell him and leaves the phone ringing. Collector is trying to call her and inform that his parents are coming with his marriage proposal. Ganga just let the phone ring. Viswa comes there and see this. He goes to Ganga and asks her why she is not answering the phone. Ganga tells him everything that went on with the collector, her sisters and herself. She tells him how the collector proposed to her and she had asked him to tell his parents to come meet her parents and now heis probably calling her to tell her about their visit. Sheis worried that this would create unncessary problems. She asks Viswa to meet Collector and tell him about her impending engagement. Viswa says ok but tells her that it would be better if Collector has come with the proposal and leaves.
Ayya comes with PV and calls for Natchia. Natchia comes out and says Ayya is very happy and what news he bring from the house. Ayya tells about Kulasegan and Muthurasi coming to his house with marriage proposal. Natchia is happy and asks if Ganga has agrees. Ayya says she agreed and Muthurasi had gone to see the jathagam and to set a date for the engagement. ayya goes on saying of this wedding takes place, Subbu will get the muthal mariathat which is long over due to her. Ayya's sons and Ilavangi comes out and hears this. Ayya tells Natchia to prepare a feast for lunch. He also gives a container of sweets sent by Subbu to Ilavangi to distribute. Ayya tells Ilavangi she can now say she is the sister-in-;aw ti Ganga IAS. Ilavangi just nods her head. Ayya tells Natchia that he is verty thanksful to her because only she could drum some sense to her brother and make him agree. Natchia says she did not do anthing but Ayya says it is her and it is her nature to not accept any credit for the good done for others. Ayya leavevs saying he will beback for lunch.
After Ayya leaves, both sons turn to mother and asks if she knows what she is doing. They tell her by this alliance their family will lose everything and Subbu's family will come up andthey cannot bear that. Natchia tells them to tell that to Ayya. The older son turns to his wife and tell her that it is allbecause of her father, Kulasegaran, He tells her that it was Kulasegaran who had poisoned their thinking about Subbu and now he turned against them. He says Kulasegaran in a turncoat without any backbone and an idiot. Natchia tells them to go to Kulasegaran and tell him face to face and not to talk when he is not around and leaves. Son goe sto his wife and tell her heis going to meet her father and until this is resolved, they wouldbesleeping in separate beds. Ilavangi gets mad and throws the sweet container. THODARUM.
