He was born in Delhi in a Sikh family, hailing from Ambala, Haryana. and spent his childhood in Saudi Arabia. He came to India in 2000 to pursue a Degree in Hotel
Management from Institute of Hotel Management, Dadar, Mumbai, after completing it he worked in Muscat for a while, where his family was then located, before starting his acting career in Mumbai. He is married to television actress Shraddha Nigam.

Shilpa has done many telgue and hindi movies such as Iqraar by chance and Sirf where she played small roles, but Shilpa Anand is most remembered for her role of Dr, Riddhima Gupta in Dil Mil Gaye,a sequel to Sanjivani a Medical boon. Shilpa is one of the most sought actors today and has a massive fan following.
