You mean 'picking and choosing from different religious texts'?

Not only religious texts but everything, books, sites, stories, life experiences ... why restrict oneself to a particular source. anything that appeals .to the mind & heart ..will do Embarrassed

If so, then I wholeheartedly agree with you on that one. Omni-theism seems to be an extremely appealing position to me. Personally, being raised up as a Muslim, I usually subscribe to the Quran, but studying the other two Abrahamic Religions seems to expand my knowledge on these subject matters (as they re said to be traced down to one man, and revealed by the same God) - Christianity and the character of Jesus being the one whom feel most drawn towards. While many of the parts of Hinduism seems mythical [to me], I think their concept of soul, after life, reincarnation, etc makes way more sense than the one taught by the Abrahamic Faith. Natural religions like Paganism, Deism, Wicca seems to hold some water for me too. Sorry or drifting into a different direction; couldn't help myself. LOL

Are we, really? I don't know. If we are part of the Nature then so is everything else that exists - because after all, the main ingredients with which the artificial/man-made things were created came from Nature. What I meant by that post is that I wouldn't like to come back as a human (or alien[s], as proposed by Kal El). I would like to come back as a flower, a tree, a plant, the waves of the ocean, the light of the moon...hope you got my drift. Embarrassed

I too love nature very much but dont U think that as human being we can do much more. A flower or tree doesnt have much scope to do anything as its bound by the laws of nature but as human beings we R blessed with a lot of abilities which can B put to good use if we wish to.

Ok let me clarify ! Everything is bound by laws of nature LOL

but a tree or a flower does not have free will like humans do. Trees & flower on their own cant bring about any change in their surroundings as they lack free will & ability to do so whereas a human can.

oh yeah, thats one way of looking at it ! Dunno, but, i think we kinda overrate that "free will". Anyways , its a personal perspective.

But who knows what all goes inside a tree ? i mean, if we have experienced human life once, why not experiment and be something else next.

Tree aur flower ki kahaani bhi to sunni chahiye. Humans ne unpe itna attyachar kiya hai, to unhe kaisa laga ye bhi to pata karo LOL

Karma --- from previous birth. I am a staunch believer of reincarnation. Imagine Karma to be a an account that is increased with debits and decreased with credits. Good karma is like a debit in my account and bad karma is credit. At the end of every life, the account book is updated and a net credit or debit will decide what I face in my next life.

Helps me keep things simpler for me. Does this mean I do not accumulate any credit - heck no. I just pick and choose which credits I'll pick and how many debits I need to balance them out LOL

I'll be happy with a zero account balance in the end so I get to get born again and not face any consequences due to the misdeeds of my past life. I am not looking for moksha any time soon Tongue

so how much karma exactly did those babies have? LOL

how much karma is required from previous birth to die as newborn babies? LOL
