marriage within close blood relatives is definitely to B avoided even if socially accepted. At least a genetic counselling & tests shud B carried out B4 such couples conceiveed as it increases risk of recessive harmful genetic traits being passed on to offsprings

Angie, tbh it has never affected me in any sort of way. I only found out when I was like 7 and that too during a random check up at the doctors. Apparantely I have some sort of calcium/iron deficiency but nothing life-threatening thankfully. :)

I really feel for your friend and I kinda got lucky that my dad didn't have it too. It is very much existent in the south asian community and I hope people do get it checked out before marriage.

Hmm i do remember preity making saif take a test for thalassemia cos she was a minor in salaam namaste if anyone remembers? Tongue

There are so many strange things that happen in this world and its difficult to find the reasons behind all the things. And until we know all such reasons its difficult to reach a correct decision about the whole act !

Case in hand - Incest.

Leaving the security, etc part aside. If the reason behind practising it is just because you are fed up practising the act with members outside your family, i am totally against it LOL

However, it might be just natural also , who knows? !

Nevertheless, its such a strange and not normal act that if someone is involved in it , i'd really be intrigued and would ofcourse want to know the background of the act ! Why , where , how etc ???This thing doesn't happen to everyone man ! LOL

hey & what about ppl not interested in either male , female or any1 at all ? Wud that B normal or abnormal? any term for that LOL

may B not illegal but society puts pressure on ppl by incessant enquiries. There R also myths that a unmarried person wont get salvation. Infact crematorial rituals vary according to marital status in some communities.
