Ranbir Rishi Kapoor was born on the 28th of September 1982, into a family that has enough history to boast of to last another few centuries. Son of the star couple Neetu and Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir is also the grandson of legendary film maker Raj Kapoor and great grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor.

Ranbir studied in Bombay Scottish and later in Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, whose alumni include Matt Dillon, Julia Roberts and Uma Thurman, to name a few.

This young stunner made his debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite Sonam Kapoor in 2007. The film stood out for the fact that it launched two new promising talents and Ranbir's performance received much recognition. The star is all set to take his career in Bollywood to greater heights and do his legacy proud.

Whoever said obsession was a negative trait obviously had nothing to live for. Ranbir Kapoor has a few obsessions and while they might not be "healthy" according to fitness experts, they definitely sound like fun! He binges on cream cheese, ham, salami, sausages and his grandmom's delectable jungli mutton and paya and loves dining at Peter Lugers in New York because he considers their steaks the best in the world.

Well, of course food is not ALL he's obsessed with. Ranbir loves football and is a passionate fan of Barcelona. He keeps himself abreast with all that is happening with his favourite club and rarely misses a game.

Ranbir Kapoor has great respect for and is fiercely passionate about RK Studios, started by his late grandfather, Raj Kapoor and the studio where Saawariya was filmed.

Game for Charity

In March 2008, Ranbir played a charity soccer match along with other Bollywood celebrities at Abhijeet Kadam Memorial Football Cup match in Pune.

The match was between Bollywood v/s a team of professional soccer players.

Ranbir took everyone by surprise by scoring 4 of the 7 goals scored by the Bollywood team. He was also declared Man of the Match.
