Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are no longer at loggerheads. At a recent shoot of Shirish Kunder's Janeman, in New York, the actors were cordial to each other. We hear that Akshay even made an offer to Salman to prove that he was willing to forget the past and move on.

Meri film karoge?
It was an industrywalla who innocently blurted out the truth. "Salman and Akshay have buried the hatchet. Akshay requested Salman to put in a special appearance in two of his films — Raj Kanwar's Hum Ko Deewane Kar Gaye and Vipul Shah's next. Salman has already shot for Hum Ko Deewane Kar Gaye."
Things have definitely changed on the sets of Janeman. Until this development, the atmosphere on the sets was hostile; Akki and Sallu were cold towards each other and wouldn't acknowledge or talk to each other. There were also reports that Salman would deliberately report late for shooting to keep Akshay waiting.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala denies this, "On the contrary, we completed the schedule well on time. If that had been the case, we wouldn't have completed almost 50 per cent of the shooting."
Salman was professional
Sajid confirms that all's well between his two leading men. "Salman and Akshay were very cordial towards each other on the sets and there were no bad vibes.
Sometimes, they would sit and chat for hours; sometimes they would just say a hi and shoot. In fact Salman, didn't drink for 15 days because he wanted to complete the shoot and went to sleep at 10 pm every day, so that he could get up for the early morning shift."
Akshay's birthday blues
What about the incident that took place on Akshay's birthday on September 12? When wife Twinkle and son Aarav flew down to join AK on his special day, the family had planned to spend time together, but Akshay had to cut short the celebration to resume shooting for Janeman. But because Salman had disappeared, he had to cool his heels for hours on the sets.
"That's not true," says Sajid. "We had packed up that day by 4.30 pm; after that there was no shooting. Shirish wanted Akshay for a couple of hours more, but Akshay wanted to spend time with his family and we sorted it out."
There was no problem
We caught up with Akshay, who was leaving for Bikaner to shoot a song for Family.
"Who am I to ask Salman to do a film? I wouldn't ask anybody to do that," says a reticent Akshay. "But yes, Salman and I got along very well. There was no problem between us; we share a warm and cordial relationship, which is why we completed the shooting of Janeman on schedule," says the actor, whose next film, Priyan's Garam Masala, releases on November 3.
