CHORI- CHORI.......INTRO # I
This is my first multi-starrer Fan-Fic so I hope I can do justice to it! I will feel like Manmohan Desai juggling so many characters all together! π
Initially I had planned with just 4 couples, AK, SK, AR, and KA but on heartfelt requests from some Michi fans Ive included Milind and Prachi too!
This story is dedicated to all the countless fans of Angad-Kripa, Sujal-Kashish, Armaan-Ridhima, Kavya-Anjali and Milind-Prachi who are simply dying to see their favorite couples on their TV screens once more but God knows if the TV producers are blind, deaf or just have no business sense, these couples have never been repeated. This is particularly true of AK, SK and KA, all Balaji couples.
Some of them may have problems (family or otherwise) working with each other so they refused projects together..... .but in others' case its simply plain stupidity of the production houses that they don't mine this motherload of intense chemistry.
*************************************************************
Iss duniya mein har koi chor hai.
Koi dil churata hai, koi chain churata hai!
Koi nazrein churati hai, toh koi neend churata hai!
Koi public ka paisa churakar ameer banta hai toh koi ameeron ka paisa churakar Robin Hood ki tarah gareebon mein baanta hai.
Koi doosron ke gaaney ka dhun churakar pakda jaata hai, toh koi poori kahaniyan churakar mazey se box office per raaj kartey hain.
Chor hain toh Police bhi hongey!
Ab dekhtey hain iss kahani ke kirdaaron mein kaun chor hai aur kaun Police.
Yeh kahani shuru hoti hai Delhi mein.
Delhi, hamarey desh ki Rajdhani, Choron ki Rajdhani bhi.
Yahan din-raat badi badi choriyan hoti hain, karodon rupiye iss haath se uss haath mein jaati hain. Rishwat ko Bhent ka darjaa diya jaata hai.
Log kapdon ki tarah Political party badaltey hain.
Buss ek hi maqsad: Kisi bhi tarah Power mein aana!
Kyunki......Power mein paisa hai, paison mein Power!!
In paison ke liye Sarkari Officers din raat public ko loot-tey hain.
Alishaan makaan hain, badey badey bangley hain, Ministers ki sawariyon ki kataar hain.
Police ka pehraa hai. Phir bhi badey aur chhotey chor din dahadey chori-dakaity karkey nikal jaatey hain.
Yeh chor kaun hain ab dekhtey hain!

Location: New Delhi and outskirts
Two lavish houses in an upscale neighbourhood of South Delhi. The two houses stand side by side, almost identical in structure, one with cream colored facade, one with grey front. Both have pillars supporting the car portico, short, gravelled driveways, tall eucalyptus trees lining the dividing walls, small servants quarters and lovely yards in the back. Both are two-storied with balconies on all sides, leading out from the bedrooms.
The two houses proclaim the affluence and prosperity of the two families living inside. The cream colored house belongs to the Guptas, the grey one to the Khannas.
The Khannas:
Dilip Khanna: Public Servant, passed IAS exams 30 years ago and entered the administrative services. Now he is Chief Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, one of the most lucrative posts in this City of bureacrats. All the housing projects pass through his hands. Builders line at his office door to get their projects sanctioned. His stamp and signature signify crores of rupees to real estate developers. Of course his left hand income far surpasses his Government paycheck. Some are cash transactions in black, some are services rendered in kind, like the swimming pool he got installed 2 years ago on his terrace or the hot tub in the bathroom.
In short, hes a No.1 Chor and not ashamed of it!
Naina Khanna: His proud and haughty socialite wife. She considers herself the High Priestess of good taste, culture and sophistication, a connoisseur of the Arts. Her house is filled with expensive pottery, paintings, rugs, china, silverware, sculptures, almost like a mini museum. No children or pets are allowed in her house. A Home Economics graduate, she has been a housewife all her life, spending her husband's ill-gotten gains without a single regret. She goes on frequent trips abroad, to Singapore, Bangkok, Europe, on shopping expeditions for her museum/residence. Her house is a Temple of Mammon, to show off to her equally rich and snooty friends.Naina disapproves of her first born's choice of career, his outfits, his careless lifestyle but secretly she hopes he will be famous someday and make her proud!
<img src="https://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii136/pallavi25/dilmilgaye_23rdaugust_d9102_0005.jpg" alt="" />
Armaan (22) : Younger son of D-N. Literally and figuratively the blue-eyed boy of the family. He is shorter than his badey Bhai but equally handsome and muscular. He was born a flirt with blue eyes and a cute/naughty dimple. The blue eyes were a legacy from some distant Pathan ancestor. Girls die for him at the college where hes a Final year Pharmacy student. His six pack abs and bulging biceps make him look more like a WWF wrestler than a B.Pharm student. Dilip is mightily pleased with his younger son because hes "focused and ambitious" and "making something of his life". Little does Dad know that Armaan spends his whole day at college flirting with numerous girls, takes girlfriends out for drives in his red sports car, plays pool with his friends. He somehow attends the practicals but barely glances at his class notes, which obliging female classmates copy for him, just for a chance of a date with the great Armaan! In short, hes a "player", he steals girls' hearts and walks away unaffected. Hes Junior Chor no.1.
Teddy (36): Stiff, formal Butler of Khanna House. Always dressed in Butler uniform, always attentive, always loyal to his master-mistress and the two "Boys" Nobody could tell from looking at his plump, expressionless face what was going on in his mind.
Kamla (32): Cook of Khanna house, personally trained by Naina to cook and serve all kinds of Indian and International dishes in gourmet style. Shes also the secret crush of Teddy. She was married once but ran away from her husband who used to abuse her.
**********************
Dr. Shashank Gupta (48): Head of the family, oldest of three brothers living in the same house, in that rare setting of modern times, a joint family. Their parents died when he was in his 20s, leaving behind two siblings in his care, one 8 and the other 12. He vowed to his dying mother that he would always look after his brothers and stay with them. He had fulfilled his promise. Now he was a famous neurosurgeon, head of Surgery at a prestigious Hospital in Delhi. His brothers were both established in their professions and now his only worry was to find a good boy for the apple of his eye, his only child.
<img src="https://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii136/pallavi25/SnapShot11-1.jpg" alt="" />
Milind Gupta (34): Middle brother, tall, dark, muscular, bearded, he was good-looking in a dangerous way. He was a dour man, an introvert with a dark, secretive personality. He rarely smiled, was a man of few words and buried himself in work all day, returning home late at night. He had his own business, a garments export firm he had established with financial help from his Badey Bhaisaab. After years of hard work, his trademark was well established now. He exported garments to UK, USA, etc, garments made at a factory in Gurgaon. He has been married to a beautiful girl for the last 2 years but rarely spends any time with her.
<img src="https://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii136/pallavi25/nov8thktho068_0001.jpg" alt="" />
Sujal Gupta (30): Youngest of the 3 brothers. Suave, handsome, smart, charming, soft-spoken. Girls who know him would give anything to be his life partner but he has vowed to be a lifelong bachelor due to some heartbreak in his past. He rejects all rishtas his motherly bhabhi brings for him, he says marriage wasn't meant for me! His profession wont allow it!
CID Officer Sujal is a sharp-shooter both with his gun and his witty mind. He has been working for the CID for the last 5 years and is one of their smartest officers, solving high level crimes and hard to crack cases.
Padma Gupta (45): Plump, still pretty with a matronly figure. Mother-hen of the family, housewife, an extraordinarily good cook! She met Shashank as a Nurse, they fell in love and married soon after. She quit her job to take care of the motherless household, to be a friend, guide and philosopher to her 2 young devars. Her only sorrow was she could never get Milind to open up to her and share his troubles. He had retreated into his shell after his parents' death and could never completely relate to the rest of the family or share his thoughts. But Padma is very close to Sujal and is presently trying desperately to get him married to a nice girl. Shes not in so much hurry to find rishtas for her 20 year old daughter. She wants her little girl to graduate, get a good job and have a career which she could not have.
<img src="https://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii136/pallavi25/shilpa-1.jpg" alt="" />
Ridhima Gupta (20): Only child of Shashank-Padma. 1st year Pharmacy student. Shes completely spoiled and protected by her family. Her two uncles and bhabhi dote on her and would bring her the moon if they could. She is very pretty, with large doe eyes, long doll-like lashes and a dazzling smile. She is shy, but mischievous, spoiled but docile. Shes had a HUGE crush on someone since when she was 5 years old. But unfortunately the object of her affections doesn't realize that and still treats her as a child. Shes dedicated a secret altar to her "hero", hidden in a small compartment of her wardrobe, unbeknownst to anyone. There she worships his photos, touches his mementos, and whispers all her feelings to him.
<img src="https://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii136/pallavi25/kyt221.jpg" alt="" />
Prachi Gupta (26): A simple, beautiful girl, she got married to Milind 2 years ago but is still trying to understand her dour husband. Theirs was an arranged marriage, her father being a doctor friend of Shashank.
She is tall, graceful, with lovely, expressive eyes and a heartwarming smile. Ever since entering the Gupta household, she has won everybody's hearts with her sweet, kind nature, her soft-spoken demeanour and caring concern for all family members. Shes won everyone except for her husband. He rarely speaks to her, doesn't take her out anywhere. Every night she stays awake, waiting for him till 1 or 2 am. When she asks, Milind tells her he has his own business which doesn't have fixed office hours and she knew this when she married him. Prachi knows her husband doesn't love her but like a typical, faithful Indian wife she is waiting for the day when she will win his heart and affections.
The two families are not the closest friends but their children are quite friendly as they practically grew up together. Angad and Sujal are good friends. Armaan and Ridhima attend the same college.
Shashank disapproves of Dilip's ill-gotten gains but Padma and Naina are reluctantly friendly neighbours,although diametrically opposite in nature.
These are the two main families in the story. In next part, Intro #2, I will introduce their friends and other characters whose lives are closely linked to these two families or will come in contact in future as the story progresses.
