Relief for Adnan Sami
Sabah withdraws charges of domestic violence against husband Adnan Sami since she didn't have sufficient proof

The latest development on the legal tussle between Adnan Sami and his wife Sabah is that the latter has withdrawn her complaint, which she had filed against Adnan under the Domestic Violence Act in the Andheri Magistrate Court.
Commenting on why Sabah withdrew the complaint, Adnan's lawyer, Vibhav Krishna who is fighting Adnan's case along with lawyer Mrudula Kadam, said, "Sabah had to withdraw her case since she had no particulars to support her claims of domestic violence (supposedly) inflicted on her. That's why the intensity of her case has weakened. Sabah has moved the divorce application to the Family Court for which the hearing date is yet to be decided, but we have not yet been served a copy of it."
Adnan's elder brother Junaid, who is based in Houston but has been in Mumbai since the past few days, said, "Sabah claimed that she has been domestically abused but the police refused to file an FIR. She then went to court but she has no evidence to prove her claims. After realising that she could not make much headway there, she withdrew the domestic violence complaint."
Has the withdrawal of complaint resulted in easing up at least some amount of strain in Adnan's and Sabah's marital life? Junaid said, "Some people think they can take advantage of someone's celebrity status. But it's okay. Adnan is a chilled-out guy. He is not vindictive."
"If things can be sorted out amicably, then why not? I know that Adnan has gone through a lot in the past few days." Junaid added.
Sabah's lawyer, Mrunalini Deshmukh told Mumbai Mirror, "It's a complete lie that we withdrew the case from Andheri Magistrate Court because Sabah could not validate her charges of domestic violence. She simply didn't want to go through the trouble of going to different courts for all the cases that she has filed against Adnan. She is still seeking divorce in the Family Court which also has a provision of relief from domestic violence."
