Frequent Buzz inhabitants Robert Pattinson and Lindsay Lohan make more news, and an NFL player kills a pedestrian with his car. Just some of the stories users found most compelling in this weekend's Buzz ...
Mr. Wonderful branches out
The bobbysoxers had Sinatra, girl mods and rockers the Beatles, and
Generation Y chicks 'N Sync. So who are the current crop of tweens and
teens, female variety, giving their hearts, souls, and dollars to?
Well, the Buzz don't lie, and no one gets more female buzz than
"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson.
Last week, females drove 84% of Pattinson queries, with girls 17 and
under responsible for a third of all searches. But that may be about to
change. The current spike in Pattinson buzz is coming as a result of
his telling GQ
magazine
how hard it was, in the upcoming film "Little Ashes," to play a gay sex
scene in which he also has a nervous breakdown. Pattinson portrays
surrealist painter Salvador Dal. Let the unisex searching begin.
La Lindsay on the Lam
Buzz users bestowed a lot of clicks this weekend on news reports that a Beverly Hills judge has issued an arrest warrant for Lindsay Lohan. The DA's office says the action is related to the actress's probation stemming from two DUI arrests, and TMZ is reporting
that Lohan's alcohol education program said she is not living up to the
terms of her probation. TMZ also said that on Saturday, Lindsay and
girlfriend Samantha Ronson wouldn't open the door for police responding
to a call concerning an argument the couple was having. Lohan's
attorney says it's all a "misunderstanding," and that she willl appear
in court on Monday representing her client, but that Lohan herself will
not be there. Stay tuned. Or not.
NFL star hits pedestrian in fatal accident
Web users also flocked to news that DontStallworth, a wide receiver on the Cleveland Browns, struck and killed 59-year-old pedestrian Mario Reyes
on Saturday with the Bentley that Stallworth was driving. The accident
occurred on the MacArthur Causeway, a busy road linking Miami and Miami
Beach. Police have taken blood from Stallworth, who has not been
charged, to test for drugs and alcohol. Officials said results could
take three days to three
weeks. On Sunday, the Miami Herald posted a video of Stallworth being administered a sobriety test after the accident.
