I was hesitating a bit to post this here, as I wasn't sure if it was the appropriate place. But, eventually I've come to the conclusion that anything that will help save lives and end the suffering of innocent people is a good thing and where the topic is brought up shouldn't be a matter of concern.
I recently came across a petition addressed to President Obama and the Secretary of State Clinton asking to help in putting an end to the war in Sri Lanka and there by ending the suffering of many innocent Tamil civilians in the North Eastern part of the country. The link for the petition is given below, and anyone who is interested (which I hope everyone would be, as this is for a good cause and all you spend on it is one minute of your time) can go to the link and sign the petition.
Once again, these are innocent civilians, including women and children who are suffering from an insufficient supply of food and medical supplies. They are also being killed and injured on a daily basis by the bombings of the Sri Lankan Army. Their own government has let them down, and are treating them worser than anyone would even think of treating animals (we even treat animals much much better, with more respect too). Now, we can only help by bringing this to the attention of the international community, and thereby putting an end to this war and the more tahn 30 years of suffering. Anyone with a mother, father, sibling, wife, husband, children would take a minute of their time to sign this petition, as what goes around comes around. We wouldn't want our own loved ones living in these conditions, then why should we keep quiet when other human beings are undergoing this cruel treatment?
Please sign the petition and pray that it will help those innocent people. Also, pass the link onto everyone you know. Thank You for your time.
