2008: Top 5 debuts of Bollywood
It has been a year of debuts in Bollywood. Most of the freshers got off to a flying start at the B.O. A few of them faltered. Usually, high profile debuts are monopolised by the star-sons. 2008 broke the norm, with a star-Bhanja leading the debut chart. Here are the five major Bolly debuts of 2007. Click on, for the countdown.
Apart from the five major entries, 2008 also saw Anurag Sinha
('Black And White
'), Vatsal Seth
('Khushboo'), Prachi Desai ('Rock On!!'), Shweta Kumar ('Karzzzz'), Sikander Kher ('Woodstock Villa') and Prateik Babbar ('Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na') sign on to the Bolly screen.
5. Harman Baweja: Cold Clone!
The much-hyped debut of Harman Baweja failed to make any impact at the B.O. He was branded a Hrithik Roshan clone and was ridiculed by critics for his lackluster performance. The presence of beau Priyanka Chopra also couldn't save 'Love Story 2050' from being a damp squib.
Harman's future projects include 'Victory' and 'What's Your Raashee?'.

Mugdha will be seen next in UTV Spotboy's 'Peter Gaya Kaam Se'.
2. Farhan Akthar: Director's Choice!
Farhan Akhtar made his impressive debut in Abhishek Kapoor's 'Rock On!!'
The GenX director, with movies such as 'Dil Chahtha Hai', 'Lakhsya' and 'Don' to his credit, played the lead role in the first real Bollywood take on Rock Music. Accusations of ghost directing 'Rock On!!' notwithstanding, Farhan Akthar put forth a commendable performance. He also sang six of the 'Rock On!!' songs. The movie was a multiplex super hit.
